Everyone who has been around Elliott has nothing but good things to say about him as a person and his numbers over the last few seasons speak for themselves.
Count me in this group having seen him for years, met him a few times and seen how he has handled a number of issues during his Blues tenure. Frankly, how he handled things like getting bumped for Miller, getting sent down to the AHL, getting bumped for Allen two playoffs ago, etc. was amazing. He was a consummate pro, constantly working to get better, never a bad word to say, etc.
Nothing but respect for Elliott from me. |

Guessing partially a expansion draft move. Teams must have certain number of goalies under contract beyond just this year. |

I thought Miller already claimed this nickname.

This would be a mistake
See how he does without Hitchcocks Trapish, only shots from the outside style of defense
or not, If the goal is to stay mediocre, give him a long term deal |

Really shows how much dumbies like you know. Boy I can't wait until Elliot kills it for the flames and have him for 3 more years at 3.5 |

I think its a smart move. Get him signed for a cheap price now for a couple years then Ortio comes in. Groovy. |

I'd be skeptical if I'm the flames. He played behind an incredible defense in STL. Not trying to knock your guys' defense, but they should wait to see how he holds up at least half way through.
You could still always trade for Fleury at the season's end |

Starting a conversation doesn't mean we're signing him tomorrow, but he has a history of good stats and I like that management are getting a head start on the goalie situation this time around. Anyone remember the fiasco that was last year?
Sure, the expansion draft might play a part in this, but we wouldn't have a goalie next year anyway if we didn't sign Elliott. Why not lock him up for a couple more years until Gillies is ready?
Besides, we don't even need Elliott to be great. We just need him to be good. We have the pieces so that we don't need great goaltending every night. |

maybe sign Johnny first ..., |

I could see and a signing along the lines of what and when Talbot signed last year. After getting around 20 games behind his new team, they should have a pretty clear picture of what can be expected from him. |

From the team that screwed to good goalies over! Go figure! Flames at least have a plan, you guys just keep adding old guys! |

LOL you're funny. Wrong, but funny.
Hopefully your team defense really improves, because Elliot played behind one of the best defenses in the league. Go ahead and look at his numbers when he played on teams with mediocre defenses.
Despite a couple of rough playoff performances from Fleury, he's played well as a whole even when the Pens had bad defense.

Yeah, we should be talking extension after a season of having him play starting minutes..
Agree that Fleury is better. He had a great season last year and held the team up for stretches. Hopefully Elliot can do that a bit himself. Looked good last night against the Oil.
The rumour of Rutherford upping the price to #6 overall plus a bit more at the draft was too much. Liked how Treliving gave him a shoutout and congrats on the cup before announcing the pick lol. |
