First off, missed the game. Just one loss so wont get all crazy.

Just a little hard to get totally invested over last few years. Losses like this dont help.

On to the next one! I would ride Mason if possible. Not totally sure he isn't playing hurt.

Today, mase kept them in it. He was bombarded for those who missed it. Flyers had no intentions of competing in this game today for whatever reason.

Streit needs to be scratched. I don't know if it's age, lingering injury, or what he is and has been flat out awful

As poor as the Flyers played (and they have a lot of culpability in this loss), the Penguins played outstanding all game. They suffocated the Flyers in the transition game, swarmed 2 on 1 in the d zone to rip apart any cycle game or forcheck, flawless PK work cheating at the top of the umbrella. That's why they've been one of the best teams since Sullivan was hired; their possession game is through the roof.

This board was ripping the Flyers play nonstop and not without due cause, but it isn't exactly coincidence they look like poop as the Penguins are playing fantastic. It wasn't all the Flyers shooting themselves in the foot. Flyers have been doing this exact thing to teams for the last few weeks...taste of their own medicine this game.

Rough go, tough loss for Mason. He definitely is Rough Luck Chuck today.

Still, the Flyers are playing with house money. Still very much alive in the playoff hunt, still control their own fate. Just can't let today snowball.

According to multiple sources, Mason found out he was playing about 20 minutes before the game. No word from Hexy if Neuvirth is sick or injured.

Multiple sources also reporting the flyers were ready to play this game, until they found out mase was in net

That's how I see it. Today was an absolute debacle, but they didn't cancel Christmas. Still in it

This isn't the first game where they have managed the puck like they had never seen it before, but today was not the best of times for that to happen

Dave Isaac and Sam Carchidi tweeted Neuvirth wasn't feeling "right"

For having no warning, Mase did a good job

Sucks because it was a team they are chasing more than anything else.

The Pens played a really good game. Flyers lacked the execution and intensity needed to match them,Mason seemed to be the only guy who came to play.

that was the most hustle i've seen from the pens over 60 minutes in years. it even rubbed off on kessel, who initiated contact with someone while in a pens sweater for the literal first time ive seen.

i still think that if schenn buries that first rush, it's a totally different game.

It sucks that most of the douches on the pens have left in recent years. Honestly the 2015-16 version is not all the unlikeable which worries me. They seemed to concerned with playing hockey

Onto the next one. Pens played great. Flyers either couldn't handle it or forgot the game counted.

Let's hope we can get vandevelde back soon!
