My favorite quote from the article Lefty shared on the last blog:
"He discovered that from all first-rounders outside the top-5 picks – a total of 150 players – only 10 turned into elite talents – a six per cent conversion rate."
Interesting.

Agree put Hank in a suit and tie and get him behind the bench. I'm sure Hank could coach this club better than WD... |

I hope we draft Fabbro, doesn't matter where we are picking. Fabbro and Tryamkin would be a killer duo.
We could call them Dante's Peak. |

Tryamkin can be Pronger really quick, just stomp on Kesler's leg the first time he plays the Ducks. |

Thanks Carol,
Good Blog.
I hope Benning drafts D but I'm still not convinced that the top 10 is the best spot to pick D. I like McCann and think he was a fantastic pick, I also felt the same way about Shinkaruk but at the time as still now I wish we had taken a D in those spots.
Currently few "Elite" D end up being taken that early. I'm basing this off my personal top 30 D in the league, obviously this it biased but I remember doing the same with Centres and many more come from the top 10.
There are some young players (Nurse, Jones, Reilly, Lindholm etc) and were drafted in the top 10 who might take over those spots but I still think there is many outside of my top 30 who also are not high draft picks ( Hjarlmanson, Brodie, Boychuk, Barrie etc) who still rank above those kids.
Bolded are top 10 picks and I'm sure I forgot some.

Interesting choice of number 1 defenceman. Why is Edler not on the list ? He's better McDonagh and Muzzin right now. In my distorted opinion of course.
