Love watching Pasta when he is on his game.
According to EK, we are packaging prospects and Loui for Drouin down in TB. Thoughts of how Seguin turned out come to mind. |

I'll tell you what, if there's anything to that, Senyshyn can not be that prospect. |

I just dont get where the value comes from? Or how it makes sense for the bruins on any level.
So a potential trade could look like Loui + Koko or Griffith + DeBrusk or Zboril? Seems like Boston gets the short end of the shortest stick in the world.
Pretend it does go down, then what? Claude WILL (frank)ING HATE HIM. He will get three shifts on the top line then get demoted, and eventually end up in the press box and complain that Boston is worse than Tampa.
Just dont see the trade happening as presented, but perhaps there is more to it than that. Maybe trying to get one of Tampa's D men too. Coburn? Who knows. |

Just pointing out that Claude likes players that can play defense. Pasta went through some initial growing pains too. But Drouin has brought himself out to be one that feels entitled to ice time, and doesnt always play the best two way game. His attitude, and his lack of responsibility for a two way game are why I think Claude would put him there, not because Claude is bad with young players. |

They tried to unload Spooner last September, they gave up on him. Spoons has drastically improved his two-way game this season. I'll give them that.
He could NOT manage the personalities of Hamilton obviously. Seguin was a problem child that screwed off and he couldn't control. Marchand still does stupid poop on the ice. The younger D-men on this team, including C. Miller has not really improved this season yet.
Bergy, Marchand, Krejci, Rask, Chara, Seidenberg, McQuaid.........those are the guys that have been around for over 5 years. (Don't think I missed anyone.)
Eriksson has been here for 4 years now, and it's not like he was coached up. (He was already considered a Bergy lite to the West.)
So who has Clode successfully coached up and developed that is a key part of the team for any stretch of time? The guys that did improve "on the ice" were traded and had "off ice issues"...........his job is to manage those issues too!
It is actually way worse than I thought as I sit here and write this.
EDIT: missed Krug. He has been good. But has he improved much? I think in his own end he is much better than when he sign as a FA out of college. But overall? His O-skill set has kind of flatlined or even declined.

Bean from WEEI said the Bs have moved on term and made an offer to Loui. Said the December deal was for 3 years.
Supposedly Dale Arnold said it was a 5 year deal for $30 mil ($6 per.)
This is such a stupid move if true. (Venting here.........) |

I'd do 4x6 but not 5... 5 years is too long. If you're doing 5 years it has to be 5x5.25 |

I'm even starting to doubt 4 years now. I just don't think he should be included in the core of Bergy, Krejci and Rask and with a 4 year deal he will be 35 the last season!
And I'm thinking it over and doubting his production will duplicate this season. Meaning I think he is peaking NOW and will likely decline from here.
That means he will still be good for TWO more years, but be a huge burden after that.
Marchand, Spooner, Krug, Pasta and still no top 4 D-men.........all need to be resigned after next season.
Kevin Dupont: via Twitter........
Suspected asking price for Eriksson is five years and between $33 to $37 million. |

Agreed. I love Loui's game, so 4x6 I can stomach. 5 is too long. Price has to come down if he wants 5. |

Claude has been here for a very long time. You are speaking towards only recent players. All the players you named ie, Krejci, Patrice, Lucic, Boychuk, Marchand, "the core" etc were all coached up by him. Patrice owes a lot of his two way excellence to Claude.
Obviously he has had problems with players. Look at Kessel in particular.... He never became the player that could play in Claudes system.

As long as it doesn't include an NTC they could always trade him after a couple of years... just because we sign him for 5 doesn't mean we have to keep him for 5. |

Yeah, the way Ek presented it, it doesn't make sense. It would have to involve a D-man coming back, or maybe it would be a 3 way deal where we'd get Drouin, but then immediately flip him to another team for a D-man. |

I like Drouin, but I don't think it makes sense for this team. And I don't see how they could ship out all of that for a guy that's not proven in the NHL... hes played one full season. Yes, he's got tons of potential... but so does Brett Connolly |

Connolly doesn't have any skills that stick out to me. He doesn't stickhandle well, no speed, average skating, not a great passer, blah vision of the ice, doesn't use his size, his shots never hit the net.......
He has heart and can grind. But that's not top six potential to me.
Drouin has speed, stickhandling, a quick shot, great skater.
If we took a fly on a guy though, maybe Eberle from the Oilers. He is a proven commodity already. Oilers are ready to deal too. And on a line with Bergy or Krejci it would be fricken AWESOME!
Chia pet wanted Senyshyn..............
Maybe we could get Drouin for cheap though.
Although.......as stated above. None of this sexy winger crap helps our HORRIBLE D situation. We need a couple top guys to be serious contenders. In all honestly.
Maybe we flip Drouin to St. Louis for Shattenkirk............? |

Isn't that the point though? He hasn't coached up a core player in a decade..........that's not good.
He seems to have changed in that regard to me.
There is no evidence of any player that he improved within the last FIVE PLUS years with his coaching that, HE "made into the vision of the player he knows him to be." I.e. Worked and improved him to his potential. Marchand was the last one.
So now he needs ready made players? Because he doesn't like any of the ones we get......or he doesn't want to work with them.........
Has to be something if you just look at the facts and evidence from the last five years.
There is a glaring problem or issue that needs to be addressed.
How are the D kids doing this year? Have any of them improved? I don't really think so. |
