Well if Edler's out, it's really time to let the freefall begin. I didn't mind lastnights game, it looked like a young team that played a pretty solid game and cant seem to shake the pattern of losing in the 3rd. Edmonton looks poised to make a run, same with Anahiem. All is well in the house of pumpkins.

Biega signs extension, is thrown into top defensive pair in Edlers absence.

Miller is slowly becoming my favorite Canucks goalie of all time.

I was just thinking of your proposal. It might be worth a shot if Markstrom can get a little warm up in... maybe the cynical answer is to just get a goalie who can play 3 periods without falling apart?

I enjoyed last nights game, yes it was against the worst team, but the young kids played well and hopefully its a confidence booster going forward. Etem looks better than Baertchi did to start the season but just as snakebit. I am hoping the floodgates open for him soon, could be exciting times

And apparently on Twitter, Weber has all sorts of fans and Simething about Benning and asset management.

How about letting Markstrom get more starts. Simple.

Thanks Carol and thank you also for this:

"My other gripe—and you've heard me complain about this before—Ryan Miller's inability to close out games. In Miller's last four starts, the Canucks have taken leads into the third period. The end result? 0-2-2 for two points out of a possible eight"

I've been saying it for months...with Miller in we will be picking top 6 which might be Bennings master plan all along. With Markstrom in the players react differently and play with more confidence so there is a chance of winning a few.

I'm not hanging it all on Miller either but I saw this pattern developing months ago. Many did.

If Hansen had scored that goal in OT instead of ringing it off the crossbar would we be comparing him to McDavid right now?

I'm no Miller fanboy, but I'm not sure how you hang this on him

Only one goal scored, plenty of chances, gifted a 4 on 3 PP in OT, rookie starting goalie with all of what, 8 games NHL experience?

I think JB is managing assets... just not the way others would wish possible.

we know are all the (un)available options. white lie posted in the last thread, that JB would have been willing to eat salary to facilitate a move and yet Weber was still waived...

If he isn't picked off waivers, then that must be great asset management.

If he is picked up then I'll be happy to have the cap space.

I like the idea of guys that earn a roster spot on the club, stay with the club. But I wonder what would have happened if Weber was waived instead of Corrado? Because neither looked like locks at training camp.

If this was just one game, I wouldn't worry about it. My concern is that the pattern is getting very consistent.

And yes, giving Markstrom more starts would be an excellent solution but that doesn't seem like it's going to happen. I figured the "closer" idea is a way to still get Miller his starts and his minutes while also giving the team a chance to win. He'd even get the "W" if Markstrom did the job.

No run support. Their goalie played very aggressively, challenging the shooters all night. Gave the shooters no space in the shootout.

I think we are going to see Sutter back with the Sedins for faceoffs.

If ever JB's offered a first for Vrbata, I hope he jumps at the chance.

Saturday night should be a fun game.

If they are going to string any wins together, this is the lineup to do it with, as healthy as it has been all season.

I don't want the tank, but I expect we will miss the playoffs.

At this point I would take a 2nd for Vrbata. I thought he had it in him to turn things around. Hammer will still get at least a 1st if he waives.
