nothing against Sprong but if he's number 4 something is terribly wrong with this list

Kasparaitis always loved this guy. One of favorites as well. We could use a guy like him.

Bonino has been another underachiever on this team. Obviously i dont care what fancy advanced stats say, he is about worthless as plot, porter, perron and a few others are at this juncture.

Pronman is good, but he is one guy that has a lot of broad knowledge but limited depth. He is wrong on prospects just as often as he is right.

Sutter has played very well for us. We are looking forward to his return from long term injury.

We did try to warn you about Bonino . The guy is slow as molasses

Bonino sucks. Will CLandening ever be a NHL player? If not, I'm not sure thats a good trade for the Pens.

I love how ppl try to defend Bonino, Plot, and BB with fancy stats.

I actually got a different impression about Bonino watching the Canes game in person. Bonino makes a lot of really good little plays that one wouldn't necessarily notice. He's definitely not producing, but he's setting up his wingers who can't handle the puck.

I still think our 4th line has been better than our 4th line for much of the year.

@Sammi let's ignore possetion stats and only look at p/60. Bonino was never supposed to be a substantial upgrade over Sutter. That 1.4 p/60 figure is respectable for a third liner. Would you rather have Bonino at 1.8 for two seasons or Sutter for 5.whatever for ~5 seasons? I'm going with the cheap guy on a short term contract without even factoring in the prospect or pick exchange we got out of that.

As far as Bennett goes, he was out producing every winger before he went down except Kessel. Can't claim Bennett sucks without claiming Hornqvist sucks too. Bennett has played ok hockey this season when healthy, which while not earth shattering, is much better than half this team.

@Victoro from last blog. You said "Things to note: Nino hit 24 goals last season fluctuating between the third and second line with weak centers in Minni. Dumba is currently playing top 4 minutes on their pretty good blue line.

Like someone mentioned, Minni needs centers not wings, but if the trade were offered it would have to be considered"

To sum up Nino as a player. He is what Bennett was supposed to become. A top 9 but more like middle 6 winger that can contribute to scoring periodically. He wont be the best player on the team but he will help.

I miss Kasper. He had a great mean streak. Wish we had someone like that.

So I guess that list is just Junior players? Not prospects?

I wouldn't mind a Sprong based trade for a similarly talented LW given the team depth at that position. I'm unsure of who that might be though, contenders wont be interested in giving up a young LW already on their roster, so Drouin, Nichushkin, Ritchie are probably out.

Nick Bonino has been Brandon Sutter's cheaper replacement this year and when you compare Bonino's 2015-16 underlying numbers to what Sutter gave Pittsburgh in his tenure with the team they are very similar (read as not very good).

Can't be. I was told that Bonino was a surefire #Corsi monster compared to Sutter.

Elliott (ARI) and Klinkhammer (EDM) on waivers.

Pick him up, get a piece back for that Perron deal. He was better than Kuhnhackl / Porter / etc

I would have just kept Sutter for his contract and let him walk at the end of his $3.3deal. Possibly Sund would be ready next year and theres your 3C. Sutter's 21goals will be more than the bottom 6 combined the way this season is going.

FWIW I think Bennett was playing the best hockey of his career. Before, you know, the inevitable injury.

There were a lot of rumors about the market for Sutter. Basically saying it was very soft.....kind of like the player. After seeing Bonino for half the year, I'd rather have Sutter, but when you take into account the salary, I'm fine with the combo of Bonino and Fehr for the same money. Unfortunately for some reason both of those guys have forgotten how to score goals.....which as we know isn't exclusive to those players on this team.

Kilnkhammer is my favorite current name in the NHL. He should be Norwegian, though.

Fans complain all the time about letting assets leave for nothing and then you wanna do that for Sutter?
