Great work Carol, totally agree Bo played his best game. Reminded me of how dominant he looked in preseason. That Sven goal was purdy. Vey's breakaway made me laugh out load but his shootout move made up for it, nice shot. |

I didn't vote on the poll question .
IMO
Burrows comments from a decade a non issue.
What he brings now to the team for what he is paid is the issue.
Him and Higgins should be out Gaunce and Grenier should be in |

Is it coincidence that we had 40 shots last night because there was no cycle game? |

Was the first in a very long time where they passed and shot at about an equal rate. I like it, get some dirty goals. |

Replying to Vantel's thoughts about the cycle game:
I wondered about that too. The Wings looked really flat, though, which could have given the Canucks more room than usual to operate.
We'll see how they look against a good defensive team tomorrow...
And yes, my question about Burrows was specifically directed to peoples' reaction to news over the incident. The question or whether or not he should be traded for any reason is one for another day. |

I will tell you my answer will be yes that day
I don't care that he said something wrong ten years ago . I said something wrong last night . |

The Loungo recapture thing is a joke. The league allowed the contract then years after it was signed added a stipulation about recapture. I dont understand how the contracts signed previous wouldnt be grandfathered in. |

just in general, those recapture penalties are extreme. I guess with the rules around the way contracts are structured, it would be impossible to see similar extreme penalties.
8.5 mil cap penalty for 2021 |

I'm starting to get onside with the waive Higgins movement. He is BRUTAL
I think Gaunce or Grenier can fill his spot. I wouldn't waive Burrows though. We may be able to get a 3rd at the deadline. I also don't believe Gaunce would be an upgrade at this point.
Interestingly, Green used Gaunce at center for the first time and he had a solid game |

I agree, Burrows has value and experience for a team with space like Nashville or Florida. I'm a big proponent of leaving guys in the A, myself. But I understand the push from everyone... I just think its better if we use the Detroit model and let them succeed at that level |

I'm pretty positive there'll be litigation when the league tries, if Lu retires before his deal is up, to collect from the Canucks. |

That whole mess is a lawyers wet dream. There will be litigation, indeed. |

I think it's more indicative of Detroit having a really poor game last night, they looked awful.
Edit: and we could only beat them in a shootout!! |

Agreed. They came out flat in the first, big confidence boost. I thought Canucks played well in the 3rd though, surprisingly. Bad Miller goal or it was a regulation win. |

What happened with Kovalchuk and his retirement? NJ is only on the hook for 250k per season, can't see where it ends though. |

it's disappointing that no one ran with a "Vey Day, Vey Day!!" title in the columns... good game for all and it goes to show if we were to split the twins on 5v5 it provides greater team depth.
you can still play them 4v4 and on all PP assignments but the split WILL make the opposition split their top defensive assignments.

Have some fun

Fun as it is to watch the ducks lose, the high probability of them landing Matthews is making me uncomfortable. |
