Burrows is only apologetic because its out in the open. I very much doubt he will ever change, regardless of his guaranteed spot on the team or his break through on the 4th line however many years ago.

McCan not going to the WJC is a disappointment. I understand the number of players who aren injured but I think his development playing at the WJC would be more beneficial than 10-12 minutes per night on a currently dysfunctional team.

Even though I have appreciated Burrows contributions in the past it is clear to me now that this team needs to shed itself from the Burrows persona.

If JB can somehow make RJ happen do it. Even if it costs Tanev.

I doubt it, Im sure canucks would choose the Best available and from what I've heard about Matthews, he couldve gone third or second in last years draft.

Tony Gallagher said it best this morning, the NHL accepts head shots and fighting and will hand out a 1 game suspension for a conclusion , but heaven forbid Alex Burrows hurt someone's feelings 10 years ago.

I know when Burrows scored that goal against Chicago I came on here and seen at least a dozen posts that said BURR.

Today he is the devil. A lot of worst things were said on the ice 10 years ago.

Not to mention the Canucks have lacked a player that could create things individually. Kesler had about a year of it but Matthews should be able to create all types of offense

I would agree, what is said on the ice should stay on the ice. I would also say that there is a line you don't cross and that was one of those lines. Had he said that in the last decade then he would REALLY be in trouble as that would be awful. Regardless, his play of recent has just fueled my case to rid the team of players in which the league view as pests/classless. I believe a players ability and skills will always trump their image but Burrows only has his work ethic, apart from that his salary is based off of his linemates of recent years..

Yes we have. The problem is, Burrows apparently can't move on from it and continues to chirp, continues to be called out, and continues to have a target on his back from players across the league. Like I said, apart from his work ethic (which I will admit, he brings it every night and almost every shift), he is a player who earns the amount he does based off having incredible line mates over the years. His lack of production off of the top line is an indicator of that. We have rid ourselves of Kesler, rid ourselves of Cooke, and now I believe it's time to cut our losses with Burrows.
