Thank you Carol for such a straight forward honest evaluation of what the real story is here in Vancouver. Our team is in huge trouble until we get a second line that can score some goals. Without the Sedins this team wold still be looking for their first win of the season. The look on Ryan Millers face when Spezza empty netter says it all. You can not blame Miller or the Sedins for this sad bunch. I hate to sound so negative but it is getting pretty depressing watching most of our forwards doing pretty much nothing. It won't be long before you see Shinkaruk and Gaunce a shot. Swap em out for a few games with Baerstchi and McCann. McCann is a future player but not ready now, thank god Getzlaf was nice to him the other night, lol |

Thank you Carol!
No Hammer at practice? Trade? lol...
I know many of us have been frustrated with Hammer and this aging core o vets but it will turn around eventually. I'm not too worried about this season as I want to see what happens with the youth development after TDL. I know playoffs are on the radar for ownership but sooner or later they will have to come to grips with the drafting and developing process that needs to take place here. |

This one line scoring is nothing new.it has been here for years. No one can figure out why.
Some of it seems obvious to me bit I know everyone will shoot it down.
First of all the prime scoring starts like icing , offensive zone starts and PP are handed to the Sedins and Edler. Good for them bad for the other players on the team.
The Canucks scoring is built around the style of the Sedins , cycle cycle so on an so on. They are very good at it and find success . We play an outside soft game and it's not the way most players play. Very little driving the net and paying the price.
Once a player who found success in other systems and find it hard to adapt to this style suffer. Look at Vrbata he is a defeted player right now. |

If you take out Prust and Dorsett I do not think there is an easier team to play against than Vancouver. Sbisa is the only physical dman and we need some toughness. Many people just do not give the Sedin's enough credit. We have been so fortunate to have had these two superstars to watch for the last decade. They are worth the price of admission how they can move that puck to each other successfully even when the other team knows the pass is coming but they cannot defend against the cycle. Truly amazing, nobody in the nhl does it better. |

The big Russian looked great last night ...hopefully JV can take notes
Is Miller UFA at year end or one more year ? It's only a matter of time before he blows a gasket ...markstrom looks like he could go on a run as well so I can't imagine that helps millers mind frame |

We score goals not the problem even tho we are a one line tram. Aren't we I the top third of the league in goals for? Our de is an absolute nightmare. All of it. Without the sedins were probably last in the league tho |

The Sedins are very good. But what I find funny is Kenins is brought up and does his thing, told to play a hard nosed, north to south kind of game. When he doesn't hit, he gets taken out of the lineup. The team holds the wrong players accountable at times.
With both Prust and Dorsett on the same line, I think one of them is expendable. I didn't like that staged fight, no play leading up to it, just talking at the face off and then it starts.
If Hamhuis is still hurt, why not give Pedan a look?
I am not sure if Hamhuis is trying to play through an injury or delay a surgery, but he hasn't looked very good. If he is injured, maybe he should have his surgery and go on ltir, won't be worth anything at the tdl playing like that. |

Willie hands out very short leashes. Very hard to play with confidence or learn if you keep getting sent to the pressbox |

If anything the Sedins are the victims here. No chance for a stanley cup as long as they stay in Vancouver. |

I don't think it is the Sedin's fault, but it is a strange dynamic when the top line plays one way and the rest of the team has to play another, because they are not the Sedins, and you don't want them to play that way.
The Sedins dump the puck in and go get it, and they position themselves and use their sticks to win the battle, i think we have guys that should be more physical, yet they aren't and lose too many puck battles.
I can't complain about Horvat or McCann, they are young and still learning, But some of the other guys, I hear the gripes towards Sven and I don't think he is playing any worse than Higgins or Burrows at times. Prust is okay, but I'd rather see Gaunce or Grenier get the opportunity.
Have we seen a Burrows- McCann- Vrbata line yet? We really miss Sutter. |

just something i read. - RealityChecker
You should try reading it again and this time read it with an open mind.
I didn't say one thing bad about them infact I said they are very good at what they do.
The point I was making is that the secondary scoring is like being the back up goalie to Richard Brodeur . If you get one in every twenty start chances are you won't be that good.
It works very well for Broduer but not so much for his many back ups that came and went. |

Its funny, I thought I heard the Stars being called a one line team, but they have other guys stepping up and contributing...
We should be right there in the hunt. Maybe the Sedins have no chance at a Stanley cup as long as Burrows, Higgins, Prust, Weber, etc... stay here?
Is the status quo acceptable? who will do what to change it? |

Horvat is having a major sophomore slump.
We don't need to panic. Losing is good. Games are entertaining, enjoy the rebuild, it's going to be a lot quicker than most teams. |
