One tough SOB when he is healthy. Dont think the bruins will keep this guy around. I'm not sold on Miller yet either. Miller's health has been an issue in recent history. His shoulder just seems to disintegrate when he gets regular playing time.

My best guess for Quaider, Vancouver or maybe Minnesota will take look at him to get tougher on the blue line.

It's really too bad, cause in the past few season i've seen the bruins lose a lot of mean, and McQuaid is one of the few bruins that still scare me. Sometimes he gets that look in his eye like a dog in a cage that's been rattled with a baton for a few hours. That'd the McQuaid i know and love.

If he's healthy and if he's on a D pairing with some speed (krug, morrow), i think he's worth hanging on to.

If the guy could string together a couple 70+ game seasons I would totally opt to keep him. He is just so injury prone.

Definitely a tough guy to play against. That said, every time I think of him, this comes to mind:

And then, of course, I think of the 4-hame sweep. But it really is a shame the guy can't stay healthy.

Benning is probably drooling over the thought of signing him.

If we didn't have $11 million locked-up between two aged guys that I would put the odds of BOTH finishing the season healthy at 33%, then I would say why not.

But signing these mid level players is exactly what got us in trouble in the first place.

This team needs to turnover its mid tier vets and allow the next crop to develop.

EDIT......Quaider is a warrior stud though.

One of my fav bruins who will yet again be another cap casualty. PC got way too much credit for what he did here. He royally (frank)ed this team

Here is an example of where the Bruins have to balance their desire to stay "hard to play against" and the Pit of Doom the salary cap is for them right now. I really like Miller when he's healthy and we're all hopeful that he can stay that way. Quaider was always game and will get a very nice pay day and, yes, Edmonton was the first team I thought of. He's steady and an ideal 3rd pairing guy for a team that is trying to add some size and toughness. I will miss that smile that appears on his face when he's beating the bag out of someone who pissed him off.

Yeah well I got to watch them lift the Stanley Cup and watch them go to another finals, so I'd say he did a pretty good job for the most part.

It only gets us in trouble if they sign him for $4 or $5 million. The trend is that teams are overpaying for D-men right now, but if they can sign him to a similar contract to what he just had, and he nets out at $1-$2 million, then I think it would be a great signing. And one that I think McQuaid might be willing to accept to stay with the Bruins.

I never noticed how much forehead Loki had. It's probably more like a six or sevenhead.

Not much news, but speculation I believe.

TSN insider trading: Pierre LeBrun:

The Bruins will have to start contract talks with pending RFA defenseman Dougie Hamilton soon. Hamilton could get an offer sheet from someone. He could be looking for a deal similar to Drew Doughty and Alex Pietrangelo.

Good god I hope Hamilton isnt looking for 7mil/per

Well that's scary. I know he's the future D anchor of the team, but I still think he has some improving to do before he can demand money in that range. Maybe a bridge deal will be put in place? 3 or 4 years at 5 mil?

This is what I was thinking. No way he should get $7 million right now. I think we all agree that he will be a $7 million guy some day, but not right now. What other guys would you look at to compare his contract to? I would think something along the lines of Roman Josi from the Predators, but I don't think hell go $4 mil 7 years... It's probably going to be more like your mentioned at $5 mil for 3-4 years.
