So what would we get in the trade? prospect, 1st, salary dump? is that the consensus? |

Given what little is available on the market, it could probably be much more. Contract aside he's still a great goal scorer on the right side of 30. If a team thinks he's the missing piece, they'll pay up. |

Asking price is apparenly 1st good prospect and a young roster player. I'm sure it can be adjusted depending on early or late the 1st is. |

prospect gives lots of room for adjustment too. There are random poopty prospects and there are likely future star prospects.
They'll get something decent, and I'll be glad to see him go |

Leafs need to aggressively pursue Pietroangelo, now is the time to strike both teams desperate and fits both teams needs. Kessel + can get it done. |

For some reason I have a hunch the Blues want to keep him... more than anyone save Tarasenko |

Kessel's "return value" is never returning to the Leafs dressing room, guy doesn't want to play team defense |

A deal to Fla makes a lot of sense. Kessel has a summer home there, they have a high 1st in a good draft, they're ready to win as opposed to build, and the draft is there - Garth_Mctavish
fla may not want to trade the #11 at the home draft
maybe trochek (prospect), petrovic (young roster player), 2016 1st and 2015 3rd |

how much cap hit are the leafs going to retain? If none, the asking price drops substantially.

I think Florida fans are in a "win now" mentality. They might very well be willing to part with a #11 overall for Kessel. We parted with 2 firsts cause we wanted him so bad (hindsight hurts so bad right now). A #11 for a "star-scorer" isn't bad when you're goal hungry.
Dunno who the prospect/roster player would be.
Who'd you grab with #11 overall? |

good luck then. No interest at all from an Isles fan. Cap retained? Maybe 2016 first. No cap retained? I'd rather not commit that much salary cap to a guy who doesn't show up for large portions of every season.

I agree that Talon wouldn't have a problem ditching the first (even thought he said mid-season he was keeping it) for a scorer. I don't know much about their prospects, Howden maybe? It would be funny if they insisted on moving Bolland as a salary dump |
