I don't think you'd want to do that. I love Domi but I don't think he's #1 overall good. |

I suspect McEichel are more highly touted, but how does Matthews compare to MacKinnon as a prospect? |

It is impossible to say. The hype is so thick with top-end prospects and clearly I don't ever watch them play...so who knows.
I think based on what I've heard about him - size and skill - that he could end up in their category of generational talent-ish players. I think superior to Mackinnon, but that's just based on the information I've been able to find. Don't hold me to that. |

Never. - James_Tanner
hahahah I'm just playing. Totally unrealistic. What would you be willing to give up for coots? We have high expectations for him, especially this year coming up, we're gonna try to even out his zone starts for more offensive production so keep that in mind. I'd want stone or murphy |

Coots and Luke Schenn may get Maloney thinking... |

So what's going on with the coyotes? I've heard rumblings that the owners could opt out of the deal and move the team? |

There's some truth to it.
I talked with Everett Sanipass at the Airport not long ago and he said it's a given that the Nordiques will be back, just a matter of when. He is working with a larger group than people think to get the Yotes up North. |

But the numbers wouldn't work for the yotes to QC. Then the east would have 17 teams and the west 13. |

There are State Side teams that could get moved to the West. |

Fair enough. The only thing I was wondering was if the yotes owner had personal ties to the team staying in PHX. Its been reported that since the yotes lost over 50 mill in the last few years he has the option to move the team. And it would make a ton of business sense for him to move it to QC. It would triple his business value overnight LOL |

Very True. I really can't see them staying and bleeding money like that.
Not sure about the Yotes owner, someone will stop by the thread and have some insight on it I'm sure. |

When the Oilers win him next year, perhaps the NHL will finally revisit its rules for the draft. |

I'd do that in a second. I'd even trade Duclair and Murphy and Chicago's 1st if that's what it'd take. Realistically, I don't know if the Flyers would move him, but his potential is sky high and he's a home-town kid. |

In fact there is a 180 day window four years from now where they can move the team if they meet a whole bunch of options, one of which is losing $50 Million.
But they are 100% safe for four more years. And even then, it's still an extremely remote possibility that they'd be able to opt out or even want to. People tend to forget that should the Coyotes actually produce a good product for several years in a row and gain a foothold in the desert, that the greater Phoenix area is one of the biggest markets in the USA and for sure the biggest untapped one. |

Well except for the fact that the potential market in AZ is a huge and QC is tiny. Also, the NHL hasn't moved a team in what 20 years? 30 almost? They don't want to, and if QC does get a team, the NHL would probably prefer them to pay a half billion dollar expansion fee.
So much of the talk surrounding the out-clause is complete BS> |

They already did, this year there was some change, next year is more drastic. Still, the Oilers can't win the pick when their in the Playoffs which they almost certainly will be. |
