We are 3 and 15 in our last 18 Playoff games. Why are fans so high on the playoffs? If the could do that in regular season we would have it made - VANTEL
Vancouver has the most broken ankles per capita in North America. Casual Canucks fans who are the biggest fans when the team is doing well, have zero interest if the team is struggling.
Someone mentioned that games against crappy teams often sell better than some of the good teams because people want to see them win more than see them play against an elite team and lose...
Looking at Horvat, if there was anyway we could miss the playoffs and get another player of his calibre, most fans would be sold on this.
There is also the concern that tanking does not guarantee good players to build around. Look at Edmonton, how long has that rebuild been going on? Might be interesting to see if Toronto can stay the course and make some good picks and develop players properly.
I want more change in the lineup. I think recent post season results confirm change is needed. Benning has seen it for himself. If this retooling doesn't work, we will eventually be rebuilding.
As I see it, as long as Benning doesn't trade all our picks away, missing the playoffs next season would be a great reality check. |

Nice, that is pretty exciting. I will def get up to Shawnigan for some looks at the young crop next year.
Also exciting that Saanich won the kraft hockey challenge and will get a preseason game. |

I don't buy into the marketing to the Islanders. Fans in the GVRD have been milked enough, so spread it around. |

Edmonton have a very good start now with prospects and young players . They have put in their 5/6 year rebuild and may be a force for years. They are one really good DMan and goalie away.
When the Sedins leave who runs this club? Who is the next core? Aside from Bo McCann Cassels JV , there is not a lot of hope. I like all those players but potentially they could be second liners

Thanks for the update Carol.
I'm not so sure that Richardson will be missed, while I appreciated his play I think there are a number of players who will be available as UFA's and with the cap dropping I think 3rd/4th liners will be available for a bargain.
Brodziak
Mitchell
Slater
Santorelli
Fehr
Goc
Letestu
Kennedy
Would be able to replace him or improve upon him.
I also think there are a number of young C's who could be available as well.
Joakim Andersson (RFA)
Drew Shore (RFA)
Marcus Kruger (RFA) could be a casualty of cap
Casey Cizikas - replaced by Lee and Nelson

Cause that is sooooo much better than the TV. It's 2015, not 1930. Radio is fine when you are in your car and need to concentrate on driving rather than watching TV, but when at work I can't use radio and when at home don't have radio. |

My dream would come true if all those prospects in the video makes it to the big club next season + McCann (except for Subban. He might need a year or 2 in the AHL) - BeatStriker
Unfortunately I think it is a dream, like you said. I don't envision all - or even the majority - of our major prospects will be making the team (and I hope that is in fact the case, as most still need a lot of development before they can make a jump to the big leagues). Stick with the Detroit minor-league model and patience and we will reap the benefits thereof in due course.
P.S. and yes, I know, this market really hates to hear that dreaded 'p' word |

Agreed. I think one will push to make the team, hopefully decisive enough to force WD to accept him. |
