If we end up getting Matt O’Connor this week, you can bank that Benning will move out a goaltender prior to or at the draft. Presumably to recoup some pick(s) as a standalone or package trade. I see the propects from EDM, CAL, WPG, VAN every year at the Young Stars tournament in Penticton. Size and talent wise from what I have seen we are behind them all development wise. No quick fix here. |

I hope we get a little more aggressive with the college route, even if we are just looking for tougher competition on the Utica roster. The impact being seen from college players is getting greater, those late bloomers could be a nice boost to our prospect pool and cost nothing but a contract |

That would be great, but it still doesn't help us next season. Linden & Benning better choose their words carefully tomorrow and be careful what they promise the fans. It won't be easy to ice a better team next year in our division. I also see VAN being the weak link unless something drastic happens. |

I expect Benning and Linden will say, we accomplished our goals, we made the playoffs with a number of new players, many of them young and it was a great experience for these players. We still have a very talented core who we believe in...... blah blah blah.
Anyone one here hoping for drastic change will be disappointed, there are not enough assets on this team to pull of the big trades that fans want.
The only questions going into next season are who will be the 6 dman and who the 4C will be, other than that I expect we will see much the same. |

Stacked again, not going to be another McEichel situation most likely where you have two prospects who only come around once every decade in the same class but it's supposed to be a really good class. |

Good to hear Ray Ferraro on TSN yesterday talking about the canucks main problems.
and yes he agree's that after the season Bieksa had it would be a mistake to have him on the roster next year,

Maybe Hamhuis should stay home and practice his pivot to the outside and work on his strength. Got pushed around by "18 year old Sam Bennett" all series long. |

Surprised it's Sbisa's knees that are sore and not his ankles. Had them broken by every Flame on the ice. Also, where was the annual Kevin Bieksa injury cop out? |

Give him a chance to get out there and do some scouting instead of getting your balls broken by the media! |

Hamhuis is still a good dman, he was playing with scrubs most of the year and still had a solid year. We have 3 good defensemen and the rest are all fringe players, that's the problem.
And the bottom6 is also fine, what they need is another legit top 6 winger. I'm actually quite optimistic that Bo can step up and be more of a 2LC next year and Bonino is a great 3LC to have. And if you can fill the 4LC spot with Richardson or a guy like Gaunce can step in, you're all set down the middle. The winger positions on lines 3 and 4 are also rock solid. It's another winger that they need to play on the 2nd line and help the 2nd PP unit that they need.
Biggest weaknesses:
1. Lack of a top 4 RHD to play with Hamhuis(ideally a puck-mover)
2. Lack of a legit top 6 winger that is good on the PP
3. Too much wasted money on depth guys(Miller/Dorsett/Sbisa/Bieksa are all overpaid for what they bring to this team). |

Bezz, I can't quote you, I just get a blank page when I try to reply to your quotes. This seems to happen randomly and selects different users on different days.
I suspect kaptaan is involved, somehow. |
