The team needs to get bigger somehow without disrupting the line-up too much. Benning has been thinking that way with his picks and recent moves, but with the grind of a playoff series they need some big bodies in there sooner than later. Easy to prognosticate, difficult to accomplish. A couple of team’s average weights Anaheim 210.1 RK#1, LA 208.3 RK#2. San Jose 206 RK#9, Van 197.8 RK#27. Any playoff aspirations folks? You need to go through these guys. |

If you notice the top three come from Cali. I take that is the state has a bunch of fat people. |

Yeah, the Canucks still need to add some size for sure. Too early to be thinking we can take these teams in the playoffs though, even though I was on the "SJ has some serious issues" train long before many were.
Miller would have to stand on his head and steal a series against the Cali teams or CHI/STL imo. |

If just one of those 3 make it as an NHL regular I'll call it a win. Bo and Virtanen are definitely big/heavy guys, especially for how young they are.
I like em big and young. |

I'm not convinced either, I would feel better about it if we got bigger though. You also have to worry about disrupting the chemistry the team has. Scott Hartnell or similar. |

Who is the new whipping boy? Vey? (his value up or down?)
Matthias has looked great on the pk and rushes. I wished he played as big as he is, thought he got pushed around by the big CBJ defenders in the corners...
Hansen? Sestito? Burrows?
Tough call to make. I like the idea of improving even while winning. I guess it really depends on the player that would coming our way. |

Now way in hell can Hansen or Burrows be whipping boys so far this year, both ave played their asses off and produced so far. Matthias has been solid after a horrible start.
Vey has been up and down, but he's a rookie so it's not shocking. He's played OK for a rookie getting limited minutes.
Kassian and Scooby's boy Sestito are probably it. |

Because of cost and age my choice would be Burr. |

IMO a whipping boy is more of a guy that everyone rips on because of their play. Not a guy that you want to move because of his age and cap hit. |

This is the tough part, who gets moved? Hansen, Sestito, Burrows? Sure just get the right piece(s) back and don't wait until the TDL.

Benning should be targeting GM's who are desperate and try to take advantage of them. That's the great team about being a GM of a team that's exceeding expectations, it gives you trade leverage over the GM's of under-performing teams. |

Then you become last years Calgary Flames. You just can't hang on to everyone until they are too old to skate. |
