The helmet cam does need to be wide angle to be useful to the fans. But I agree, as a teaching tool it's going to be a good addition.

I dont really think its meant to be used for video replay, or teaching tools.....but a cool angle for the fans entertainment.....which I think it does well. One replay last night when a Calgary player broke towards the net with the puck was a really nice view of the game from the refs perspective.

was that the second calgary goal you're referring to? That replay was an interesting angle, added a little something extra to the broadcast. I just hope they don't record the conversations between the refs and the players. That's not stuff we need to hear IMO.

I completely disagree

I'd like the NHL rights to be sold to HBO and have everyone mic'd, and cameras permanently positioned on the benches
