I bet Linden Vey would be a good fit for our third line... Other than that idk. Can you loan us cap space? |

I know a Vey for Campbell won't happen but with Benning Linden and Nealy I could see a deal of some sort being done |

Krug is a restricted free agent at the end of an entry-level deal. Basically, the easiest way to explain it is that he can't sign or even talk to other teams because he doesn't have three years of NHL experience (which is defined at 10 games per the CBA). It's really a matter of the sides finding a middleground that can work on a one or two-year deal. Basically just a bridge deal while the B's work themselves out of cap hell. |

Same as Barrie and Schultz as RFAs coming off their ELCs. Just saying do you think his agent is holding out till 1 of those guys sign to set the precedent for an offensive-minded Dman. They all have similiar numbers.
Barrie 64Gms 13G 25A 38Pts
Krug 79Gms 14G 26A 40Pts
Barrie 74Gms 11G 22A 33Pts
Barrie's agent (same as ROR) was waiting for him to sign to see what Avs cap situation was like before the started to talk. I read he is asking just over 3m on a long term deal. |

Oh, poop, my bad. Thought you meant like in general.
Yeah, I mean I think there's a certain number that they're working around. But it's pretty simple for both Krug and Smith-- it's Boston or bust. Chiarelli's already talked about having to maybe settle for a one-year cheap contract that'll pay them later, but I think the fact that it's here or nowhere has slowed the urgency to sign 'em down to a crawl.
Now it's not exactly the same, but the Bruins did this with Brad Marchand in 2011. He had to settle for a two-year bridge deal and then got his money at the end of that deal. Ironically enough, you could argue that the Bruins are paying for that right now given Marchand's cap-hit. |

You could probably get Stanton for McQuaid which is a savings of a Mil or Hanson Stanton for Boychuck |

And it seems typcally this happens every summer that a collections of RFAs at the same position start holding out until 1 signs and sets the numbers. Not sure who goes first out of those 3 (also Jake Gardiner is in that category, he might sign 1st to kick start it all)

Listen, let us have Boychuk and we'll toss you Josh Bailey if Sakic treats Snow to an Olive Garden dinner next time we're in Denver. |

I mean, not only is he a legendary player but he's also probably a lock for the HHOF under the "Builders" category. |

No we already have retained all rights to Johnny Boychuk in any trade, we legally cannot take anyone but him. |

The Bruins are not signing anyone because they are going to sign Kevin Hayes from BC. He was drafted by Chicago four years ago and still hasn't signed. He becomes a UFA on Aug 15th. Same situation as when the B's signed Blake Wheeler.
He's 6-4, 215 lbs and from Dorchester, Mass. It sounds like he wants to sign somewhere where he will make the NHL roster. 3rd line next to Soderberg sounds good to me. Especially considering the max he can make is $900K.
Loui Erickson as your first line winger doesn't impress me though. Not enough to win a cup. Bobby Ryan would be nice. I would love a Marchand + Boychuk for Evander Kane trade. Its too bad we cant afford JB55 after this year. Hes a warrior.

I don't think they will get Hayes, nor am I sold that he will be a great NHL'er. I am up for the attempt, but one will see I guess.
I am ok with Loui being a 1st line player, we was that in Dallas playing with Ribero and Benn, and he was fantastic
