I liked Garrison, (for short spurts) and think he may have done better out of Torts coaching style.

Oh well, will this years second round pick (Demko) amount to NHL status

Demko has a great chance of making the show one day. He was a savvy 2nd round pick for sure.

Trader Jim turned the 50th overall selection from the Garrison deal into Linden Vey...

Can someone start a trade rumour so we can fire this this up?

Gotta keep Burrows... He's the only proven Sedin triplet on this team right now (although I think Kassian & Jensen are capable). Also highly doubt the Sabres would be interested in that many vets... They spent all of last season selling off those types to go with a legit rebuild.

Burrows competes harder than anyone else on the roster. I don't get all the hate. It's not like his sh!tty cap hit is the thing holding us back from contending. Hair pulling aside, he puts forth the effort I want our kids to emulate.

How about Gaunce, Higgins, and Tanev for Myers? I'd even through in Hansen to sweeten the pot...

I wouldn't personally, but I'm much higher on Tanev than everyone else. Also want to keep Gaunce as 3LC of the future & explore a higher return by shopping Horvat+.

I think if they were trading Myers they'd be looking for cornerstone prospects to build their team around or high draft picks in return.

I still have no idea why they're intent on trading him.

Probably because they anticipate his value taking a further hit this coming season on that shiite-ass team of theirs.

Turn him into multiple pieces for the rebuild now & help the situation.

I wouldn't give up any picks or prospects to get Myers. Not interested in trading potential for potential at this point. Vets for prospects or hold pat, unless that 1C becomes available. Sedins as a second line could still be dangerous for a few more years.

I don't hate Burrows. I was stating that it is sad that our talent pool is so low that only one or two players can play with the Sedins .
If burrows scores 20 he is a bargain. If he scores 5 he is an expense. We can wait and see how Burrows performs

To be fair, not many teams have more than 1 or 2 players who can compliment the Sedin game. Requires a rare combo of skills.

Just my opinion, but his perceived value is higher than his actual value and a rebuilding team like them could benefit from that.

Cups are overrated. President's trophies are where it's at. So the Canucks win the Cup, then what?

Burrows is crap. He's part of the old regime and needs to be shipped out while he still has some value. If he starts off the year well, I'd trade him to Montreal or Tampa for some young talent or picks.

Kesler is gone, Burrows needs to be next.

You could be right and it's possible they've seen something in Myers that they don't like.

To me this would fall in the same category as "every player is available for the right price", which usually means for a higher value than the holding team believes their player is actually worth. Those kinds of deal usually get instigated from a team that wants him, rarely from the team that's openly dangling him in the marketplace.

I think Burrows will have great value to a contending team. The guy can slide up and down the lineup and still be effective.
