Likely the dirtiest player in the NHL but a talented player when he isn't being stupid. |

Wow! How drunk were you when you typed that?
Marchand is a pain in the neck but hardly dirtiest player in NHL. No suspensions for boarding, headshots elbows etc. Does some underhanded stuff sure, but FAR from dirtiest.
Lets try Cooke, or Kaleta etc are dirtier.
No Marchand on this list http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?id=50596
One Bruin who got really angry over a controversial hit.

Marchand is a rat, but not too annoying cause he never plays well during the playoffs so no one notices him |

On a team that may have a narrowing window to win, Marchand, imo, is starting to become a risk that may not be worth it. I don't disagree for a second about the skill he brings, but how often does he actually bring it? He was very streaky this season. If not for one hot streak he would've had very sub par production. I think his "agitating" gets in the way a lot, leading to things like reputation calls in a game 7. That's just something a contending team cannot afford. Unless he has some radical change like Cooke supposedly did, I don't see those calls going away. I'm not interested in moving Marchand simply to relieve cap, but if you could put him in a package as part of a real hockey deal, where the B's got someone legit back, I'm all for it. I do like the player, but I'm sick of the bs that come with him |

My bad. Should have read "Does some underhanded stuff sure, but FAR from dirtiest."

Not a fan of Marchand, but it seems like Chiarelli has no problem throwing his players to the wolves when they are on the way out. Had no problem proclaiming Seguin to be a drunk when he traded him. Good news for Marchand is it worked out quite nicely for Seguin. No one was crying problem when Marchand broke out during the Cup run. |

100% agree. The B's as a team get an unfair rep as a "dirty" team and I can't understand why. Does it all stem from the hit by Chara on Pacioretty? (Which, incidentally, was a clean hit with a horrific result).

My words on the situation are, "Why the hell would Boston ever trade Marchand?" He's the second best scoring agitator in the league (behind Perry, who's paid like twice as much). Then they'd have to replace him.
And what are they going to get for him? If he's a salary dump, they're going to get draft picks?
The guy who doesn't really fit is Loui Eriksson. Even then, the team can probably find a way to keep just about everyone. |

If he was moved, no way it's a pure Salary dump, they would need to get a good pkg back, OR, they would pair Marchy with some others to get 1 bigger player I think..
This team is in win NOW mode, no cap dumps for key contributors. |

i agree 100%. how do trade Brad Marchand and get the same thing back for $4.5 million or less. He's fast, physical, kills penalties, gets alot of sh goals, and scores a bunch 5 on 5. He does dumb things out there at times, but it is really becoming less frequent. He's a keeper - hopefully. |

Please don't put him in the same sentance with Perry. |

Can't get slower you have to keep him. Spooner is not going to convert to the wing therefore he has no place on this team. Make a package with Spooner not Marchand and not Boychuck. Kelly and McQuaid are salary dumps. |

What?? Do you not remember the 2011 Finals. He had 2 goals and assisted on the game winning goal in game 7 alone. |

You can still be a dirty player without causing injuries though he was suspended for 5 games for injuring Sami Salo.

Marchand for Marleau talks picking up. Interesting idea but trading for a 34 year old in Marleau isn't a wise idea unless they are getting youth back in a bigger deal since that offers no cap relief to the Bruins.
Don't know how legit this guy is though

The phrase used was DIRTIEST player in NHL, which is so far from accurate it's not funny. Intentionial head shot artists and boarders are in my opinion far far dirtier. Take your pick there a lot of players who have a history of both infractions,
Yes he was suspended for 5 games for clipping Salo. Likely a bit harsh to get 5 games but whatever. Marchand and Subban were both known for their questionable low hits early in their NHL careers. If you watch the replay on Salo, Marchand catches him in the thigh not the knee. Subban is well known for his backwards "bumble bee" bum check to the thighs. Same basic play low hit to thigh. |
