First of all Carol ,I don't know why any team would just want to make the playoffs. I would rather take the higher draft pick. I understand LA won at #8 two years ago but realistically how often does that happen. I am more concerned about the future and less about now. A top ten pick would suit me fine.

I read Botch's blog it was very interesting indeed. I love someone post saying " Why does not Vancouver get a first line player that has scored this year. " That pretty well sums up the Canucks this year.

Because the difference in picks will likely be minimal, which really won't result in a drastically better player, especially in this draft where 10-30+ are projected to be similar.

I'd rather enjoy at least 4 playoff games and pick 16th-20th than not get any playoffs and pick 10th-15th.
