Meszaros is still just a throw in on a trade, right? I know recently he's been hot. I know he's always had talent. That being said, he's got a history of injuries and he's a free agent at the end of the season. Perhaps a team with a bloated cap figure would be interested, but I dunno.

His second goal of the night against the Isles last weekend was a beauty, though. Nice fake to circumvent his defender.

Amazing concept, teams that are willing to make that bold/big/risky move (LA, CHI, BOS) are the ones to succeed. Evander in Chicago would be dirty though, just give them the trophy now and save the time.

Absolutely a toss in for the moment. For all the reasons you said, plus he's only on a mini-streak right now. I'd like to see him sustain it over another month before he starts getting mentioned as a trade piece. Unless Homer can dupe someone into thinking he's a stud

Absolutely. With regard to Ek's glowing review, Jody Shelley once had a 2-game goal scoring streak, but I wouldn't say his offensive game was starting to come around. Mez has played well offensively, but at the same time, he's also been mostly responsible for 3 goals against the last 2 games.

Do you see any potential of Paul Statsny getting moved within the division to a team like Chicago? Chicago has some defensive depth and prospects that could be useful to Colorado, and Statsny would really help solidify the Hawks second line center woes.

I would not be surprised to see Statsny in St. Louis this summer via free agency. We'll have Roy off the books and the guy grew up here. Not to mention he has great chemistry with Stewart.

I would not be surprised to see Statsny in St. Louis this summer via free agency. We'll have Roy off the books and the guy grew up here. Not to mention he has great chemistry with Stewart.

I feel like Colorado would have an extraordinarily difficult time re-signing him because I think he is ultimately going to end up with a contract very similar to his last one (6.5 per) if he does in fact test free agency.

No way in hell he gets 6.5 mill from the Blues at least. Maybe 5-5.5 tops. I think Petro's contract is the max per year we will spend.

whats happening with the Capitals.. GMGM needs to make a move.. or he is gone.. it might even be too late. But i would hate to see him blow up the team to before he leaves. I also feel if Adam Oates isn't getting it done. Hire Laviolette.

Chicago would be out of their mind to move big pieces to take a chance on Evander Kane. All they have to do is stand pat and they'll be deep in the playoffs again. The Versteeg trade was a robbery, why would they bother messing with the team's chemistry in a big way with E. Kane?

I may not speak for all Sabres fans, but if he was traded to the Blues, I would immediately be a big times Blues fan come playoff time.

By picking up Miller pre-Olympics the Sabres can save a lot of money by not having to pay him for the time he is in Russia.
