Man, screw the Penguins. Stop hogging all of the elite players and just stay put with your dynasty-esque team.
Crosby, Malkin, Neal, Kunitz and you want more... |

If I'm Pittsburgh though, I say no thank you, I'd much prefer Eberle
Yak has all of the potential, but until he shows he's going to adapt the North American game, no thanks!

I'd also think the return would have to be Letang+ for Eberle. How about:
Letang + Beau Bennett, 2nd
for
Eberle. |

Drafting Ryan Murray instead of Yakupov wouldn't have solved their problem on the back end. He will be a solid 2 way Dman someday but I doubt he ever becomes this so-called "puck moving defenseman" the Oilers need. |

There's no way that Letang gets traded, but I get the timing as the boys are in Edmonton and this prospective Letang trade at least makes logical sense.
Eberle is an above average two-way forward with a huge contract.
Letang (who is only 26 - still young in D-man years) has a chance to be a generational player if his hockey IQ even comes close to catching up with his talent level and work ethic.
And the only prospect that has a chance of replacing Letang's puck carrying skills is Pouilot, and he's nowhere near Letang at this stage.
And Scuderi does have oven mitts for hands. |

If Letang didn't get hurt all the time this may make a bit of sense.
But he's missed at least 8 games in every season except 1. |

yes, I also fully agree that the notion of Chris Kunitz being a dynasty player is laughable and embarrassing to the notion of a dynasty. The guy is a (frank)ing plug and is only good because of Crosby... Even he alluded to it. |

Let's just kill this right now.
Letang is a very good dman but not even close to the type the oil need. Period.
We need guys that can win a battle on the boards, clear the front of the net and make a first pass. Not puckrushing guys. We have 3 puck movers.
Letang is not a fit! |

Eberle is average with a terrible contract? Letang is a generational talent???
FFS this is rife with stupidity.... |

Thees adeal makeh no senseh!
Letang offers skating offense... but he has trouble getting it out of his own end.
Edmonton's problem... getting it out of their own end (and inconsistency).
It doz not fitz...
Eberle offers... speed, stickhandling, clutch goals...
Pittsburgh's problem... inconsistency...
Eberle does not offer consistency...

They shouldn't be focusing on puck possession and puck moving, they should be focusing on someone who can play defense. - GSDIV
Thank you. Can't possess the puck if you can't take it away... |

I personally think a Niskanen would solve more issues for Edmonton. |
