Jeff Quirin: You call it... Who should the Blues cut? Out of the four seemingly obvious options, who should the St. Louis Blues cut from their lineup to get down to 23 total players by Monday?

Cracknell did hit the post last night.

I still say Maxim Lapierre is the one who should go. he costs more, has taken dumb penalties and doesn't add much more than any of the guys you listed. I still don't fully understand that signing in the first place. Of course that won't happen.

I'd place my wager on cracknel as he'd be the least likely to get claimed too.

I don't think Paajarvi is a 4th line player. He should be on the third line, but there is no room for him there on the blues. Ideally, I would have Paajarvi sent down to develop more until there's room for him, but he would definitely be claimed off waivers

i imagine paajarvi probably should be the one sent down? i haven't been able to see any of the preseason but that is what i've gathered as the general feeling. i think we should give him a little longer to see if he buys in and makes a few strides. the AHL might be a good place to do that but does he really clear waivers? there are probably a few teams out there who imagine he's an upgrade on their top-13 already, despite his legendary "potential" and modest contract.

removing him from the list leaves us with Cracknell, Porter and Reaves.

i guess Porter would be the guy if you had to choose between them. i just see the other two as having a stronger role with the team. really though, how can you risk losing a portion of CPR through waivers?

so despite not seeing him in a blues uniform yet. max lapperino can try to clear waivers. i imagine he's there to fill the role of 'make other teams pissed off guy' but is he enough of an upgrade over Porter to throw away the chemistry that line built last year or the potential of PRV?

maybe i'm just over concerned about these guys getting snatched up?

Morrow and Lappierre were bad signings. Cracknell will be waived and will likely be through. MPS would get picked off waivers for sure.
