I dont think its a bad contract, in 2-3 years its going to be right on point at what he should be earning and it will feel like great value for him in the back end of the contract if he keeps up his style of play.
Its encouraging to see the Avs make such a financial and term commitment to their young stars in Landeskog and Duchene. Dont have to worry about another O'Reilly style contract mess for them, just suit up and play for the boys |

I dont think its a bad contract, in 2-3 years its going to be right on point at what he should be earning and it will feel like great value for him in the back end of the contract if he keeps up his style of play.

it could a few 100k too high, if it was under 5 it would have been a steal, if it was over 6 it would be ridiculous. The 5.2-5.6 range does seem fair to me to invest in your young heart and soul captain and leader. |

if he had of signed a 2-3 year extension or didnt at all and only got better it would be up there in the 7s so thats why i think its a steal |

At first I thought it was a crazy amout, but I really think Landeskog will be a very good player. Add in his ability to be a team leader and the caps upward trend, it could turn out to be a very cap friendly deal for the Avs |

Hahaha fantastic contract. I like Landeskog but he's done absolutely zero in his career to earn that contract. And I'm not going to bring up point totals because I'm the first to point out, points are certainly not everything, but there's no way to justify that contract.
In a couple years it may look great, or it may not if he's just a 3rd liner on the Avs. |
