No offense, John, but I prefer not to vote on this one. I'm just enjoying what they are doing right now. Playoffs? A game at a time. |

I look at the poll and my ?, How can any true hockey fan, all predjuces aside, not think Pittsburgh would not be the Stanley Cup favorite. Too think anything else is pure bias or hate. I don't want to hear, they don't have the goaltending, defense etc. This team is the deepest team the NHL has seen in years. The fact is they are prohibitive favorites and to think anything else is ridiculous! |

They were last year too, along with Vancouver. Nothing is promised. Most of us like the team, and especially how they are playing. Despite that, there's no way I'm crowning them. They play the games for a reason and every one flips a switch during the playoffs. |

Just to carry over from last blog, this is why the Penguins are a threat to win it all
Pens have given up 9 goals in their last 10 games and have gone from 20th overall to 7th during that time in goals against per game. |

I don't take the Hawks lightly. That's a comparable team for sure.
I was impressed with Murray last night. Players just bounce off him. Everybody was warning us about his foot speed, but I didn't think he was that bad........of course when all you have to do is stand at the offensive blue line and watch your forwards dominate, maybe it's hard to notice whether a guy can skate or not.

i have no problem answering your pole question and the answer is quite simple. the penguins need to the win the stanley cup for this to be a successful season. at this point they are clear cut favorites to win the stanley cup, especially after the recent trades to acquire morrow, murray, and iginla. shero has made it very clear that this is a stanley cup or bust type season, and anything less is a failure. |

He wasn't fast but he was in position. When you make a living hitting people like he can you certainly know that when you get ducked and you're not in place your goaltender suffers. Ask Orpik. Vokoun bailed him out nicely last night. |

I couldn't be more disappointed that we're done against the Flyers. Getting a couple of chances to smack around the Rags next week will be a nice consolation though... |

I dont think being Canadian has anything to do with it. There are a lot of Canadian Pens fans... Or Pens Fans in Canada ....
... And a lot of US fans that hate on Pens fans. |

I agree that it was due to him being mainly in position and playing a safe game. Anyone else notice that he pretty much let Nisky or whoever else he was paired with retrieve the puck behind the net.

Milbury is still a idiot the pens are the heavy favourites but injuries and hot goaltenders can be the great equalizers in the playoffs. Pretty sure no fans think there team is a lock to win the cup in march |
|
|
|
So what is everyone's opinion on the lines once Iggy is here?
Morrow was a stud last night in front of the net, just curious to what we do. |

Murray has been in the NHL for a while now, I am sure he has learned to compensate for his lack of foot speed. If he hadn't he wouldn't be in the NHL. |

One game at a time. There is so much parity in the league that any team has a shot. So I'm not gonna go ahead and hand out the Cup. As one person put it, Mario should have 1993 on repeat in the rooms. |

I thought Iggy would def be paired with Sid, but after seeing that line dominate (again) last night, you have to believe he'll work with Geno and Neal. The Peg had no answer for Sid, Duper and Kunitz.

This is true! And on a good note, looks like the chances of the penguins having to play the flyers in the playoffs this year is pretty slim!!!!!!!! |
