With the brilliant mind that Feaster possesses should he not be able to come up with something to rid himself of arguably (one of) the most overrated Dmen in the league?
This guy is durable, yes. But he's never even come close to being what people thought he would.
Calgary needs to start with Jbo and move about 3-4 players...the problem is that so do most teams in the league.
Take a look around and see how many teams are over the cap for next year. Even with the buy outs some teams will be in serious trouble...
So finding a taker for 6.6 million next year isn't going to be anywhere near easy. I just don't see it.
BTW - best ad ever on this site - filipinocupid.com - LOL! You've satisfied a huge part of your audience there ek!! ( I know it's not him but it's still funny to me)...

Eklund: Should Flames Eat Salary to Move J-Bo? - Eklund
I see the point though as Jbo would be an excellent addition to most teams out there at a salary of 4.5 mill. Just dont see Calgary doing it. They'll keep him if it came to that. |

I think if they could eat about 1.5-2 mil of cap space the Canes would interested. To keep Semin, the canes will only have about 5 mil with a dman going as well. |

JBo would be a much more attractive trade piece with a lower cap hit. |

Flames need to decide one way or another.
1. Go through the whole rebuild process
2. Try and buy players and make their team older but some what sustainable
I think they should go down the #1 route. Trade guys like Iginla, Kipper, Cammy, Jay Bo, Kipper. Get picks and get young guys and try and turnv this franchise around. For years they have been the dreaded 10-12 spot in the conference where they don't make the playoffs yet get an average draft pick.
Hoping they turn the franchise around. Been to CGY multiple times. good city and good people. |

If they manage to deal Kipper twice Feaster would be a god.
I don't get why Iggy doesn't just agree to be traded, make a cup run with Pittsburg, Vancouver, or Boston, then re-sign with Calgary on July 5th.... |

Depending on the return i would not mind the flames eating some salary. If it's just for a late 1st round pick then no. If its for a stud prospect then yes. |

No on JBO, but the team that should absorb cap hit is the Sabres with Vanek. 2 mil next season to get Vanek to $5 next year would be enticing to a ton of teams. - GSDIV
because the point totals aren't enticing? |

If the Flames are going to enter re-build mode, then they should eat as much of his salary as possible...
That way they get the best possible return
Assuming he won't be the only big salary moved, they should have plenty of cap room
Iginla, Tanguay, Kiprusoff, Sarich and many others should be traded to bring in young talent
I hope my Sabres do the same thing
Miller, Vanek (unless he'll sign a 4-5year extension), Pominville...
All for sale to highest bidder
Leopold, Regehr & Hecht also
Time to blow it up here in Buffalo
No offense to Calgary fans, but their organization shouldve done so a couple years ago... I don't want my team to sign our "big3" to deals into their late30s-early40s, that'd just be an awful idea |

Eating some of the cap on Jbo would not only make him even more attractive trade piece. But it would also help Calg reach cap floor during theyre rebuild. Id love to have Jbo play along side Doughty for the right price. |

need a new gm before you allow a rebuild. |

At this point, if they're going to blow it up then absorbing bad contracts isn't really a big deal anymore.
That being said there's no reason to trade JBo only for the sake of doing so |

Not necessarily, you're assuming Feaster is in in full control of that decision which I have always found hard to believe. |

Hahahaha, thanks...
To be fair though, I can just as crazy as most on this site, ESP w my trade proposals...
My latest I've been ripped for...
Miller, Vanek, Pominville...
To Colorado for
Varlamov, O'reilly, Landeskog
Miller, clear upgrade in goal
If u have to pay someone 6.5m next year, at least Vanek is a proven 35+ goal scorer
Pominville & Landeskog are prob a wash
Colorado gives up youth with good potential, for solid vets that get them into the playoffs now |
