John Toperzer: "Now playing for Metallurg Magnitogork, number 87 ..." Is a reunion of 87 and 71 in the works?

Watching Orpik, Lovejoy and Engelland work out is kind of like a skills competition, without most of the skills.

This could be a huge mistake. How many scrubs in Russia would love to be known as the guy who took out Crosby? Especially if they do it in a way that would eliminate him from competing in the next olympics in Russia? I think guys are going to be running him left, right and centre.

On the plus side, if his brains get scrambled again it works out great for my keeper league since I don't have him.

He would have to have a brain injury to agree to play in the KHL.

Is this any different than in the NHL? There's a bigger ice surface and less hitting over there. At this point I dont care where he goes an plays. Its his right. He tried to help the NHL and PA settle this dispute and they said no. He doesnt owe them anything except to make as much for himself as possible.

The comments on the Russian league here are funny. AS IF the NHL protected it's players, don't make me laugh!!! Headshots are not outlawed. Brain bashing and an 82 game season are not physically possible for players to tolerate without serious side effects. Don't make me laugh. Seriously.

Of course we can follow the NRA's lead here in the states and arm the refs with guns, that way everyone will be protected. I swear the NRA also must believe the way to stop alcoholics is to give EVERYONE more booze!!!! Idiots.

Crosby wants to play hockey and he can't do it here so why not?

It will be a non issue. Now that we have a defacto drop dead date of January 14th a deal will finally get done.

Agree. However with Fehr involved you never know. I don't believe he has the best interest of the majority of his members.

I've always thought if Crosby goes over seas there will not be a season.

Yeah, that is probably the most accurate gauge.

If Crosby does go to the KHL, Paul Maurice will think he's died and gone to heaven.

As much as I loved Sarge's time here, I really hope that story is wrong. The last thing this team needs is a defensman that can't play defense. There was a time when Gonchar was very good in his own end, but that was 4/5 years ago.

Wake me up when they drop the puck.....

Merry Christmas everybody!
