I still don't get this ranking system, nor do I really care.

Steve, I'm a little disappointed. Bobby Ryan comes out with a mea culpa to Eric Stephens of the OC Register all but ending the trade speculation and you're first blog in weeks is this ridiculous ESPN rank.

Ouch that hurts! I will be responding to Ryan's comments but I have been on hiatus for a bit. Hang tight.

No worries dude. I'm just interested in your take on the situation. Bob Murray was raked over the coals by Ducks fans but it looks like he played this correctly. I hope Bobby realizes now that EVERYONE is on the trade block. If some idiot GM is going to over-pay for you, you're gone. It doesn't mean they're trying to get rid of you.

Exactly, Ryan showed he still has some professional maturing to do. We saw a hint of that from his New Jersey bashing the summer before.

Seriously!? How do they even crack the top 100? Just spent 2 weeks in Aneheim. Couldn't they have found a more photogenic irrigation ditch along side which to build a rink plus being in a more desirable industrial park in which to build this shrine to no attendance sunbelt hockey?

Look at the categories they used. The Ducks are lucky in that they have one of the most stable and loyal owners in sports. Also, the fact they won a Cup in 2007 will push their ranking higher than Calgary.

Attendance has been OK considering a) there is a Cup winning team located an hour away, and b) there are so many other entertainment options in the area.

No one can beat their ticket prices, which were basically free. On many nights you went to the arena complex and ate dinner or had a few beers and they gave you a ticket. Not bad pricing for a playoff bound team.

I imagine that if Anaheim can turn its fortune's around we could easily see them jump back up into the top 25 in the next year or two. In my opinion the Honda Center one of the best places to watch a hockey game and still one of the best values in the league. Period
--------------------------------
Wishful thinking but to say the Honda Center is one of the best places to watch a hockey game is just ridiculous to say. Empty seats, Boos after every penalty called, Having to listen to Bryan Hayward.
