Of all the KIDS Morin has more of what we need....Morin could be a replacement for carcillo in the top Six
- southernhawk

I hear you guys! Was just saying. He has talent and could help the Hawks. Looking at what they have done so far tells me there is no help coming from the outside. Wish there was. I like what I have seen from Morin. Hope he can help too. Saad is a guy with his size and skill could also. As I said I would rather have him in Rockford for a year. Problem is the Hawks are not (at least to this point) getting anyone to bolster this team at forward. He may be an option! We just have to hope he can contribute to the 2012-2013 Chicago Blackhawks.

how can i view your avatar bigger... Biggest question of the day. It's natural for me to ask the question. You think bowman would like to squeeze a favor out of some team? Maybe two? This offseason has been a gigantic loss..... Boobs.

STan is so (frank)ing sold on his top picks he can't see poop else....Morin has skill...but I think the bigger thing is he has (frank)ing grit ..... When Toews gets run at what the (frank) is Saad going to do...not poop...puls Morin won't be lost in a top six role

I still like Smith. Assuming he's fully recovered from the concussion and surgery, that is. He's only 5'11 but a very solid 205. Like the Jim Croce song, he's "built like a refrigerator with a head."

Add in high hockey IQ (Q had him paired on PK with Toews against the Sedins during the playoffs) and I think he could be a huge asset.

My pipe dream is weber for the picks.... voracek and mez for Ryan. Long shot but with homer.... who knows.
- moylander

I keep thinking if philly ends up getting Webber, it won't be for picks. They will do the gratton thing and end up working out a trade. I can see Voracek involved at least

Problem with smith... and I like him too.....is that he is just another bottom 6 forward, of which the Hawks have way too many of. Jmo.

Ok Southern. I'm not saying Saad is the key to 2012-2013. All I really saying is maybe get use to the idea. I DO NOT WANT SAAD on the top 6 this year or even on the big club at all. But he may be the only BIG forward coming to the Hawks this year that was not on last years roster for the season. Don't like it, but have to maybe deal with it. Look at what Bow has done so far. NOTHING. We just need to hope the kid can play! That is all I am saying.

I'm not so sure... homer is a Richard when it comes to business. He has Nashville in a position where he owes them nothing and can walk away at any time. 3 choices.... Nash can swallow a poison pill and keep weber.... let him go for picks.... or get less than market value back in trades (if Philly chooses to do so and we just saw how little clb got for Nash).

It could happen your way though... I think the fact webers agent specifically stated weber prefers Philly is the dagger in Nashville's back. Jmo.

BTW... it sounds like both weber and Philly have not spoke with Nashville since the OS. Not sure what to think about that.

Saad needs another couple of seasons of development prior to being part of any discussion about the top 6 (IMO). I'm sure we'll see some Rockford call-ups this year, namely Olesz, Morin and Smith.

I just think Morin brings more of what we need than Saad...i mean were playing Carcillo in the top 6....morin can add the grit and score Saad is not a gritty player....but like you say we maybe stuck with saad

As Ogi has pointed out many times here, you don't need a true top 6 forward to have them be effective in the top 6. The guy has won everywhere he's been. Was MOP of the Frozen Four. Never underestimate people who are used to winning.

I'm thinking of the last 3 Stanley cup teams and I'm falling short on finding a player like Ben smith in the top 6. That's not a deep team if that's the case and I think above all else, balance and depth wins Stanley cups.

I like smith..... but his role is not top 6.

You're probably right, but I still think he's more help to this team than most think. We shall see.

I'm overtired and need sleep anyway. Night all.

I'd like to see Morin get a good shot this season. Hopefully he's developed since his last cup of coffee with the Blackhawks because he looked a bit lost.

Good point. I think people get too attached to names like top 6 or bottom 6 or 1st liner etc... To me it iis about rolling 4 lines and solid depth. Smith is a proven winner who got things done here when given time. He is a lot like Shaw in smaller guys who aren't afraid to get their noses dirty and make things happen out there. We still need a 2nd line center, but adding young guys like Smith, Shaw, Hayes, and hopefilly Morin to the top 5 core up front can make for an interesting year

Yep. Guy is a player that needs no other label other than that. He has the will to win a puck battle, put the puck in the net, get it to someone who can and keep it out of his own net.

Guys like this I don't measure his skating, hands, shot or anything else. Guys like him want to and are willing to. Simply said he's a hockey player who is more effective with more talent around him.

Of course he's not a StanBowPops&McD guy, so he suits up in Rockford.

I don't know about that. It probably happens because the roster is so full of crap right now, but they have been pushing him lately. He was at the convention and got a pretty good reaction. Just saw an article about him, Hayes, Olsen, and Shaw. Not a lot of press on Morin, though. Nothing at all about Beach lately. I still think those 2 can be in the mix
