More like, every year for the last 12 the habs can only muster maybe one good line, Most of those years Koivu was the center the others were Plekanec and this year DD.

I don't know how you expect other centers to put up 60 points with the slugs we have had on the bottom 3 lines this century.

Saku was the only center we had that could put up points with no wingers.

- Oilhab

Plekanec did put up points playing with absolute garbage this year.

He's the best center on this team.

Ribeiro and DD.

Perreault had 56 pts.

EDIT, well this century it would only be DD. As Pleks last 60+ season was in 2009-2010

Century means something else in french i guess.

I never implied any of those guys had scored 60 pts on that lineup, i was simply digging up our start of the century lineup.

See, now you need to clarify that...

Not 60 points though and he did get some PP time with decent forwards. But i know what you are saying

It's not the way it works in sports. You don't give a guy's winger just to check things.

Eller will have to work hard, wait for his chance (injury or lack of production by DD)

If you just shuffle around vets for younger player eventually poop is going to hit the fan in the locker room.

- Fredobface

Agreed on that one.

This.

Leave DD alone unless something isn't working.

- pete26

You can try thing outs in the pre-season, see if there is some chemistry in case of injury.

the point is that only 2 centres that could challenge Koivu came through the system in all those years: Ribeiro and Plekanec.

how many Montreal centres have put up 60 points this century?

Koivu? Plekanec?

- DoubleDown

ribiero? gomez?

all i'm saying is that eller could put up great numbers given desharnais linemates.

given slugs, his production won't be what it could be the same as plekanec's wasn't the same as it could be.

is desharnais that good that he made his linemates better or the other way around?

fair enough. he's also in his prime while DD is still in his NHL infancy. my point is more that i'd rather see what DD's ceiling is before discarding him.

Better yet, he's kept face at the end of last season and said he's eager to show he still has it next season. Poor Plek, we all know he still has it, its his wingers who never did.

Problem is: while it's too soon to trade DD yet, with Gally coming we dont have much time to give him either.

it was a hypothetical comment. the habs won't mess with the pacioretty lines chemistry. we know that.
