what the (frank) are you talking about
- DoubleDown

Advanced hockey statistics. It is a far better way to evaluate player performance than QP's French test.

And I am saying that Lars Eller was as good as Plekanec last years in terms of possession, goals scored and goals against averaged out to his specific ice time. So the folks who want to trade him or think that his 1.3M contract is bad are (frank)ing idiots.

Leblanc = has shown he can play as a winger.
Eller = has shown he can't play as a winger.

That hard to understand.

- PRICEless

Not hard at all.

I think saying a 22 year old ( or 23) that he can't play wing when he's got the tools to do so.. is pretty much fawkin dumb, stupid and ignorant.

Did he have succes on wing ? nope...
But last year's team was poorly coached and too many times Eller was playing Gomaids.

All I am saying is IF he's properly coached.. maybe he could become as good a winger.

BTW.. he sucks at faceoffs... That;s kind of important...

but then desharnais would be lost because he can't play the wing and cannot play a 3rd line centre role.

of all our centres.....(all of them ) desharnais is the most expendable.

Did you see the kid with 104 steals for season already in A ball?

Cool Papa Bell was famed for his speed. "One time," Satchel Paige remarked, "he hit a line drive right past my ear. I turned around and saw the ball hit him in the ass sliding into second base!"

Eller is a terrible passer for a center. His style is more suited for the wing. He does look lost when he plays the wing. With a few games he'll adjust I'm sure.

By a few I mean more than 2.

You work with IFs, i prefer to base my judgement on facts. So far he has sucked at wing and played well at center. If he magically turns into a scoring winger next season then all the bragging rights to you.

*Suck* on faceoffs is an exageration, sure he needs to work on it and get his average up to 50% but his 45% isnt abyssmal, just not up-to-par. Guess this is the first time a young player has to work on a facet of his game.

I agree that it might have been a coaching problem though.
