I'm surprised Eller signed for less than Emelin. Is it the "If me get less too millions dollars me go back to Mother Russia" factor or does Eller's agent really sucks?
- _nay_

Emelin sucks...but to his credit, not as much as Eller.

fair enough. i just think that he has the tools to be an effective checking centre and im not so convinced he'll be an offensive threat in the NHL.
- DoubleDown

In his first pro year, he played 42 games in the NHL. Habs didn't have depth at all, but he surpassed guys like Engqvist, Palushaj and Geoffrion who are older than him.

And that's without a training camp, because he was still nursing that shoulder injury.

He needs to add explosion in his first few strides and add core strenght, which I expect he did this Summer.

I've been posting as Bobby Slayton on Just for Laughs' Facebook & Twitter pages all day. I can honestly say it makes my long, sordid history on this site read like a church newsletter.

Fixed for illiteracy.

when the canadiens have enough depth to give eller real linemates to play with, we will see his true potential. as long as he is playing with the likes of moen, darche, blunden, geoffrion on his wings, we will not. he needs at least one linemate who can finish.
- rob121

If you actually look at some advanced stats, you would see that Lars Eller and Tomas Plekanec had very similar seasons.

PDO, GF%, GA% are all very comparable. Eller's GA20 (Goals Against per 20 min TOI) was statistically better than any other center on the team. All of his numbers in terms of Fenwick and Corsi are essentially the same as Plekanec's numbers.

Touché, Robbie. I did indeed mean sordid. Although I did spend the majority of my ban organizing all my posts by subject, so in a sense, even my typo was valid.

Leblanc = has shown he can play as a winger.
Eller = has shown he can't play as a winger.

That hard to understand.
