What's Pleks No-trade clause? Includes a list of teams?
- l3ig_l2ecl

probably, he has a modified no-trade clause, which means he can list teams he doesn't want to go to. No word has to how many.

This. Straight up, I think it's a trade worth considering. If we have to add to that package, then Bowman can go to hell. There has to be better trade options out there...

As for the argument about Eller vs. Galchenyuk that all of you were having ealier. I think Plekanec is the moveable piece if both HAVE to play at center, we just have to hope he has a better season so you can sell high.

Eller is a 7th overall pick too, so I don't get the whole Galchenyuk is the franchise player because he was picked third overall. If they end up dominating as a tandem then who really cares which one plays center and which one doesn't?? Eller needs to fill-out his frame and Galchnyuk will need to fix his knee.

Desharnais is a pretty good 2nd line option if he can learn to take care of his own end. (which he not very good at no matter how hard Gaston Therrien tries to prove to opposite.)

Anyways, I just wanted throw in that having Galchenyuk at wing for one season just to give him less responsibilities (a la Seguin) should not be something that creates this much craziness. Eller still has room to grow, and in the unlikely event that the team decides to keep Galchenyuk, having a year where he has less responsibilities to learn the ropes of the league is not at all a reason to have people freaking out.

Eller was drafted 13th overall.

ahem, 13th.
- stinger67

ok, sorry, 13th. Point still stands, he's a high-ranked prospect. Galchnyuk would benefit from having a spot with less responsabilities and who knows, maybe we find a dominating tandem that can be a force for a number of years. Are you guys really suggesting we don't do this because some think that Eller can't be better than 3rd line C and that Galchenyuk is necessarily the next franchise center? Why not try it and if it doesn't work, then you deal with it...

I don't like it at all. Trade value is debatable but if you want a talented bumhole, why not signing Semin and lose no assets?
- Le_Moderateur

Semin would most likely not cost 6.3M per year either.

Not really an issue.

"Hey Thomas, we haven't made any effort in years to get you a winger, even your buddy Jagr who wanted to come here twice, we totally ignored him, both times. We know you have a no trade in your contract but we could trade you to Chicago to go play with Marian Hossa..."

You really think he'd say no??

Think he'd refuse to play with Hossa?
- _nay_

Hossa has always played with franchise players(Alphi, Kovy, Crosby, Datsuk, Toews). Not sure how he'd do with Plek.

**of course that's a negative for Hossa, not Pleks)

- l3ig_l2ecl

And the best player Plekanec played with was Kovalev.

I know it's about their respective values in a trade but...

I'd trade Desharnais and keep Plek as our #2 center.

There are lots actually, but since Kaberle never actually shoots, he's the only one that never gets a fake-shot to work. #predictability

I agree but... I mentioned that DD had to improve his d-zone play.

With a good season, Plekanec's trade value could potentially bring in someone to replace Markov to play with Subban for years. DD will likely never have that kind of trade value.
