So he did things that an owner is supposed to do, and these are things that you use to point to him being a good owner?

How about the years of hiring pea-brained and inept front-office staff coupled with the fact that he is absurdly arrogant and thinks he knows more than everyone, which leads to him meddling in everything? Where's the explanation for any of that?

I can understand him not wanting to keep dumping money into a team he's seeing no profit from, but he has nobody to blame but himself for that. He either stood by and let Milbury mismanage this team for years or he used Milbury as a puppet and directly ruined the team himself.

You also better come to grips with the fact that I never said that he was just in it for the real estate.

The Wang supporters do not want to answer why a guy like Cappy is coaching this team and why Wang goes on TV saying Garth and Cappy are doing a great job. I always gave Wang a pass for not having the highest payroll. I will never give him a pass for turning the Isles into a circus.

Supposed to do? Timeout.

How many owners will not even buy a team until they get new buildings, renovations and revenue from those buildings all on the taxpayer dime first?

The guy in Phoenix is only signing up for what Wang did last summer if he get's a seventeen million dollar check every year from the taxpayer to manage a modern building and make all the revenue. Mangano sure did not offer that to Wang.

First off, unless you are around this man daily you cannot claim anything about his personality, plus you cannot have it all ways. Play the he only cares about real estate (incorrect) or is a megalomaniac controlling everything (possible) about the Isles management card, not both.

Milbury's resigned in January 2006, the first time he missed the playoffs under Wang since his first year. Since then Wang's signed players from DiPietro to Hunter, Witt, Tavares all without Milbury so it's time for a new tune.

Wang paid Tavares and gave him longer term before Colorado with Duchense and they have a modern building.

You really think Doug Weight needs Charles Wang? Snow's done enough smart signings and contracts, he's got a future now without Wang in the NHL.

According to Ek Isles led the pack for Jay Bouwmeester. This will really improve the offseason and hopefully lead to a young dman in package for a scorer. Still a long shot for these things to happen.

Luckily he's always wrong. J-bo rumor goes back a few years now (with him reportedly not willing to come here-thank god) so I'm sure he's probably just trying to get hits. That said, he is probably one of the most grossly over-payed players in the league based on performance.

In only TWO of his years in the league has he finished a positive player and both were with dismal Florida teams. Last year he was -21 and didn't even eclipse 30 points. Let the flames keep their horrible decision of a contract.

Isles need help reaching the floor and in every department including D. I'd much rather not invest close to 7 million for the next two years to watch an overrated player underachieve here then walk. Whatever we'd give up to get him is no where near worth it.

He said very good job. How many coaches has so-called cheapskate Wang paid to not coach?

And what was the spin a year ago? Capuano did a great job and Wang/Snow are fools if they don't sign bring him back. Same stuff now with the AHL coach, what are you doing promoting a winner?

One other thing, if this franchise is such a circus how come everyone signs up to stay who can leave? They have to deal with Wang's management and Snow daily, so why not demand a trade, much less take long term deals.

Frans Nielsen was hyped for a Selke, Grabner for rookie of the year, why not say I'm testing UFA and want out of here while Grabner refuses to sign?

Even Parenteau kept saying he wanted to come back.

If the players on the team were making these claims would be fair and legit, but even the guy they tolled said he loved playing here.

Three years ago no one knew what a floor was.

Agree on baseless gossip rumor but all I got this year was Talon was a genius for Brian Campbell's contract in a trade and they won the division, why did Snow not do that and act like a real gm and spend some money?

Same junk I read with Kaberle, McCabe, Souray.

They take Reasoner or DiPietro back in a deal that's one I would consider. Calgary could be the problem.

If Wang wanted an arena built for the Isles, it would have been built. Now its our problem that he has dreams of being a real estate tycoon.

Yha thats it

Please, just sell. You own a professional sports team. Its your responsibility to spend money on the team and put a contender on the ice. When you refuse to do that, you're just making the situation worst.

Where has he refused?? Where???

Random thought-Its an absolute disgrace that John Tavares only makes $5.5 mil a year. Why?? Why should he have more??

To all the Wang bashers, understand this, if he had not bought this team they would already be gone. He was told(promised) by then Sen D'Amato that a new building would be no problem once he bought the team. So keep killing the man that has at least kept this team on the island as long as he has. You folks are just plain ignorant about his situation. It's a losing proposition anyway he he goes at this point. As for the Tavares contract, no one put a gun to his head to sign it. Tavares made a commitment to the team because he WANTED to.

Any one that has a better idea of who should own the team throw out some names, Tell me what billionare/corporation wants to take on this ridiculous political challenge to keep this team here. So keep bashing the owner while your head stays in the sand.

To all the Wang lovers, shove it up your ass! Sick of hearng it. We'd rather them be gone then see them in this state. I feel ZERO remorse for Wang. ZERO!!!! He's just another shat owner with an agenda which I can't blame him but my priority is the hockey team. What's your priority?

This one seriously. If this BS continues THIS fan can't take much more of it. I've had enough like countless other fans of this team. Go ahead and say goodbye sarcastically and tell me to be a fan of another team. I could give a shat. Call me a non "die hard" and think one day you'll reap the benefits of this nonsense, it's ridiculous. Do you guys have any idea how ludicrous this all sounds and I'm not referring to myself? This team is lucky I spent thousands(maybe hundreds of thousands?lol)on them for literally 34 years now(I'm not 34 that is how long I've been a fan). The state this team is in with the perpetual BS surronding it if it takes a move to bring back respectability then so be it. I don't want it but if it stops the Wang/Snow circus I will 100% support it!

Edit; Good man x but don't state the rebuild BS bcs come december even you will be calling for Snows head like you were last year. Rebuild is just that. A rebuild, building up, improving. Stop with the wait and see, makes you guys look un-intelligent.

if jay bou is coming here Then we better trade one of our youth defenses for a scorer.

I predict that:

Tavares 94 points
Moulson 70
Visnoysky 60
Streit 52
Okposo 66
Nielsen 47
Bailey 50

Mark my words! for next season!

Your on a roll? There's a 12 year record that screams otherwise.

He did not make them competitive? Four playoffs in five years after seven years with no playoffs?

- NYI

Yeah, a roll, Captain Kool-Aid. Four playoffs not in five years, in 12 years. Four in 12. People get judged on an entire body of work, not a fraction like you enjoy limiting your cited pieces to. You can't keep cherry picking time frames, citing irrelevant crap and omitting facts that don't support your delusional rants that CW is the greatest thing to happen to the Islanders in their existence. You want to live in fantasy land, go ahead. The rest of us will be fine here in the real world.

this is all such wonderful news.

Ek has the Isles leading the way for J-Blow so safe to say he won't be an Islander. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't J-Blow refuse to waive his NTC a couple years back to come here or was that Jovocock?? The mind is cluttered.

On a side note, why haven't we signed Semin yet?!!?!?!?! Guy is a goal machine, get his ass signed Snowflake!

Also heard Anaheim is not trading Bobby Ryan anywhere - all speculation. Anaheim obviously will listen to offers but has no intentions of moving him... especially with Teemu on the brink of retirement.

I seen something about the Isles being interested in Mueller - hahaha! You think he's going to sign with the Isles with this team having no future? He's been down this road before, Jesus tap dancing Christ. As long as the Isles don't have some kind of signed agreement as to where theyre going to be playing beyond the 2014-15 season expect the Eric Boultons of the NHL to come running to Snowflake for contracts.

Looking at the team we have now, it's not that bad guys. There is so much potential for guys like Okposo, Grabs, Bailey, and Nielsen. If these guys can find their grooves we'll roll along nicely. Someone thought my comment was funny when I said our goaltending and defense look solid... what's so (frank)ing funny? Our defense is the strongest its been since 2002 and our goaltender (Nabby) is the reason we didn't get Murray!

I personally can't wait for opening night! Going to be (frank)ing rocking! I'm making the trip to Long Island for sure! Want to see these guys set the tone from the first puck drop. (frank) management, (frank) the politics, just play the game and the rest will fall into place. The more negative poop that happens off the ice I think will motivate these guys to play better. Theyre young and they want to prove themselves, I think they will.

Oh, Brad Boyes scores 30+! Write that down you someone who is attracted to the opposite sexs!

Then like now, it was not a requirement to buy the Islanders to develop the hub so your point makes no sense, it still is not a requirement.

Did Wang save the team in Bridgeport or bring in the Dragons for window dressing too? You forget he is a basketball fan and wanted to buy the Nets after the Isles so was that all about land too?

If that's not enough riddle us this? How come in 2004 when the Lighthouse was announced after Nassau had no plan or money, Suozzi made it an open bidding by 2005 for the right to develop the property as long as the Coliseum was part of it? The Mets, Vince Polmeri, all the usual suspects all submitted plans, when Wang finally brought in developer Scott Rechler he won.

He spent all that money for the team and still was not given anything by Nassau and had the same right to bid like everyone else.

There is a very easy history to follow here. RFP (requests for proposals) were put out twice by Nassau County on that property long before Wang and Kumar came along. Plans, response from 1972-2000? Zero.

Charles Wang also did not purchase this team by himself, he bought it at a time he was working at CA and Kumar was an equal partner who said at the press conference we are not real estate developers. The real estate angle was heavily documented at the press conference in 2000. Tom Gulotta said whoever buys the team has to build Nassau a new building.

So again why did he agree to a plan last summer with no real estate rights, all he had to do was say he's spent enough and lost enough?

What did he do? Sign more players, spend money to run the building in Bridgeport, agree to a thirty year lease with no real estate rights.

- NYI

Believe it or not, multiple people can buy into a real estate venture. You don't think Kumar had tie same idea as CW? And you don't think someone with the business mind of CW could see that owning the team would give him an inside track on developing the land (which, surprise surprise, he won the development rights to after he bought the team)? Keep that head in the sand. Ignorance must really be bliss...
