Depends a lot on how he does preseason and weather they give him the 10 game try out, He could switch spot with Hodge if all goes well. - cabin
He could very well be in the best position to be a calder finalist depending on how the rest of the offseason goes. If he is in the lineup, IMO he will be getting top 6 linemates, and PP time off the bat. I dont think he would be fit to put on a line with guys like Ott or Kaleta. Luke Adam should find his way on the roster if he is not traded. With Adam, Armia, Grigo, Zemgus, Foligno, Stafford, we have a very large group of young forwards. |

Kaleta should have an A on his sweater for the leadership he provides. When your injuries are due to blocking shots, fighting and blocking more shots you're doing something right. Kaleta and Ott on the same team are going to be a thing of beauty to watch. Kaleta is a cheap signing, plus he's local; there's plenty of room on the team for him. - The_Inkwell

I think you add Gerbe and Tropp in there.
Vanek, Cody,Pommer
Foligno,Ennis,Staff
Tropp,Ott,Leino
Kaleta,Mc, Gerbe
At some point if a trade is not made, Im sure Adam and Grigo will be in the lineup, but with the makeup of the team now I cant see grigo playing center on a checking line. If he's here I bet he goes on the wing in the top 6 asap - sbroads24
fyi, ott is not a center...he takes faceoffs, but according to him, he's been on the wing 90% of the time |

At some point in time were going to have too many "top six" guys
2013-2014 roster will have:
Van, hodge, pommer, ennis, stafford, foligno (yeah hes playing on that line but i think of him as more of a career 3rd line grinder type) grigor, girg, armia, leino (he SHOULD be top 6) adam
thats 11 guys that qualify for top 6 roles
looks like were gonna be going back to the "roll 3 lines" strategy from 06-07 |

from the "something different" folder, Steve Ott says via twitter he's looking forward to wearing #9 here and that it was his old number before the NHL. |

Still dont see grigo centering a checking line. IMO smart thing is to put him on the wing. |

I'm totally on board for poaching S. Weber. Even if it meant trading Ennis, Stafford, Sekera, Leopold +2 1st round picks. Go ahead and blast me for giving up so much for 1 D man, but S. Weber is without a doubt a top 2 in the league. Pair him with Myers and you have the absolute best D pairing in the NHL for years to come. And honestly, I don't think it would hurt our offensive production with that kind of stability on the back end. - awildmudkip
I didn't mean give half the team away!! lol. Cripes, he's good but c'mon here. I'd give Sekera, Leopold and a first, but that's about it. I might throw in a lower tier prospect or a 4th in to. But you can't give half a team away, especially when you don't have anyone to take there place. |

we have been waiting for that too long . will be great to have 3 lines again. We have enough talent . just need to roll with it and stay healthy.

It worked very well then, also worked for Boston when they won the cup. It would be a luxury IMO to have three solid dependable lines. More than likely when Armia and Girgnsons are in the lineup full time Vanek or Pommer, or both will be wearing different jerseys. In 3 years our lineup could look like
Armia-Grigo-Perry ( Sabres are signing in 2013)
Ennis-Coho-Stafford
Foligno-Zemgus-Leino or Adam
Tropp-Kea- Kaleta
Assuming Ott doesnt resign in 2 years and Gerbe is gone.
Myers-Mcnabb
Pysyk-Ehrhoff
Mccabe-Sekera

No... but they need to make the right move. Not make a move just to make one. We have a boatload of young talent now. I really dont wanna have guys like Armia, Pysyk, or even Luke Adam be throw in's on a deal to get a guy like Statsny or Ryan. For all we know Adam might end up being a 25 goal scorer. I would love Bobby Ryan, but im inclined to go for a FA like Doan or Semin and not have to give up our good youth |
