Agreed but you can't not sign players under this assumption. Let's face it, we are all Islander fans and this fear is warranted. Probably has a lot to do with the whole Kirk Muller situation. Ryan would be an excellent addition to this team. He'd be the perfect player for Tavares.

I dont know I am happy with the team so far. WE got more physical, better defensively. I am worried about the scoring though cause of a few factors.

Okposo - He only plays good the second half of the season after he has been moved to every line to see where he clicks.

Grabner - Cant find the net. Breakaways is his enemy and they should try to avoid that with him at all costs.

Bailey - Well this guy plays when he wants to and that is not often. PAtted his numbers after the ISlanders were out of the playoffs

PA - Well he is gone and even though Boyes could return to old form that is yet to be determined.

Nielson - belongs on the third line hands down. Been saying this since last year.

Nino- Needs to be in the AHL. That is where he should be until he learns the sport a little better.

We need more scoring no doubt about but kiddies this is your team that you are going to see. No Bobby Ryan, Snow is not smart enough to pull off a trade of that value, no more signings, he is already getting hives after the few he signed already and is at Wangs feet askign if he is mad at himf ro signing decent players.

I was done with this argument when it started with NYI. The guy avoids issues, doesn't answer questions, and invents things that were never said. No where did I say i was upset that the Islanders didn't get Carle? I said he would have been a good addition. No where did I say it was a good signing or contract. NYI continued on this Carle thing after I replyed to dcb 1 posting something about being happy the Islanders didn't spend a lot of money on Carle. No where in that post did I state it was a great signing. IMO I think Carle is a good player and would have helped our blue line. Whether his contract is a good one or not is debatable. The point of my origional post was why are some fans so concerned with how much money Wang is spending on a player? We don't have to worry about the cap. Not for a while maybe never? I could give a (frank)ing rats ass how much Wang spends. I for one would not have minded they got him at that price even though it is def a bit inflated. It's free agency, ALL players get inflated contracts. This is nothing new. No where did I state I was unhappy or whether it was a good contract or not till now. NYI is as usual fighting with himself.

Edit; I'm done with this. The guy had no point and used analogies that made zero sense. This is nothing new. Lets move on...

I was thinking the other day about this. The Isles got a really good deal on the JT contract but I also think it hurts them when going for UFA's. Since they can't justify paying a UFA more money then JT they don't offer guys legit fair market contracts. Does that make any sense??

I think Snow is finished on defense for now. He'll pickup another one in the fall. He wants one of his picks (deHaan, Donovan, Ness) to make the team. I think they need to find a RW for Tavares however in a trade. It looks like SD is lookning to get rid of some of their guys. Montreal is looking to trade Bourque and Weber for Havlat and Toronto is looking at Marleau and Clowe. Clowe would be a good fit for us in a trade. He has one year at $3.6 million.

The JT contract was bar none Snow's best doing as a GM. I have to give him absloute props for that contract as I stated earlier. It makes sense that you have that thought but makes no sense as far as contracts go. Tavares very well might be the best player on this team during his tenure but I'm scared at the thought that he will be the highest paid player. I think you get my point?
