they are going to be good this year...Anders Nilsson is a freak - NYI78
I was at first angry at that draft then after cooling down I was hopeful that either Nilsson or Koskinen would be the Franchise goalie we have desperately needed. Both were so big they take up 1/2 the net already and if either developed into what we hoped when drafted it would be the guy. I mean the cross bar comes up to their waist... insane. (still scratching my head why we needed to use the first pick in second and round on a goalie..) |

Wow. That's quite a stement. I really have to get there to watch a game. Was going to last year and didn't get around to it. I definitely will this year. Depending on who makes the Isles this year I think you are right. They should have enough of an influx of talent this year to be a substantially better team. - Cptmjl

That too ... - niteislander
To even use Crosby and Parise in the same sentence as Dipietro is laughable. Two players who have proven themselves one of which won a cup as compared to someone who has done nothing in the NHL? It's not even an argument. DiPietro could have been something but his injuries prevented us from ever finding out exactly what? Comparing contracts with these guys is a terrible analogy. BTW, I know it wasn't you doing this just wanted to make a point. |

The good thing about Parise and Suter both going to wild is a lot of teams that have not really done anything are in on the NASH hunt now.... If somehow Detroit gets Nash... and the Rags, Pens, and Flyers strike out on Bobby Ry too... it has been a heck of an off season for the Isles b/c other teams got worse..and begrudgingly.. I have to admit even with our meager signs.. we are a better team. |

I know most will argue with me here.. .but I don't want Semin. I know I am an idiot.. but u really want a guy who takes tons of shift off, doesn't play defense, and u will have to pay a fortune.... doesn't this team have enough "country club" guys already? |

The contract comparison certainly made me laugh.. but their is a heck of a big difference between signing a soon to be RFA on his first big contract in NHL.. and signing a UFA.
For the record I think Carle was overpaid and overhyped. |

I'm actually happy with what Snow has done so far. There is just so much more that needs to be done and I'm trying hard to keep from jumping off the ledge because there isn't much left to work with. This is when the Rolston, Mottau, and Pandalfo like signings could start and if they do we can kiss the season goodbye before it even begins. Hopefully he can swing a trade because there aren't many quality free agents left. |

Not me beyond writing there are no country club players on this team. Biggest problem with some of them (Bailey) is they will do anything to help the club but it seems to hurt them for not being a little selfish. |

Um, you looked foolish. Once again, let me spell this out for you. In not one of my posts did I defend the Carle contract. You just decided to say that I did. You comparing MacDonalds 2010 2011 stats to Carle's 2011 2012 stats is moronic and makes zero sense. You avoid the issue and don't answer questions so whats the point of even debating with you. You avoided EVERY question in every one of my posts because you know YOU are WRONG. Do you want me to bring up Bobby Orr's stats or Coffey's and compare them to Carle's? That has just as much signifigance.
Btw, why do you hate Wang and Snow so much? Why do you hate DP. See. I just invented something that you never said so I can bring up pointless stats and argue with you. See how easy that is? |

I think Snow is finished on defense for now. He'll pickup another one in the fall. He wants one of his picks (deHaan, Donovan, Ness) to make the team. I think they need to find a RW for Tavares however in a trade. It looks like SD is lookning to get rid of some of their guys. Montreal is looking to trade Bourque and Weber for Havlat and Toronto is looking at Marleau and Clowe. Clowe would be a good fit for us in a trade. He has one year at $3.6 million. |

The funny thing is so do I. You are just too narrow minded and argumentitive to realize that. I don't think Carle is a bad player by any means and believe he would have helped our blue line but he was certainly over paid. Can you bring up MacDonalds stats again though? That was hockeybuzz brilliance. |

Wouldn't mind Clowe but that would have to be contingent on him signing an extension because he's not coming cheap. |

Do you think either would be a legitimate NHL Dman that can contribute next year or are they being rushed from what you've seen? |

The guy had 38 points, played all 82 games, and was a plus 4. I don't need to talk to any Flyers fans. Of course they are going to bash him on his way out the door. That's what hockey fans do. I'm not saying he was the missing link for this team but they have to sign some decent players here. The well is running dry. - Cptmjl
