I get it now....
even IF it is a PR nightmare in 3 years.. .I still think the Isles need to make the trade for the sake of the PR today. They desperately need something to make this fan base excited. - niteislander
i agree with that....id be thrilled with a bobby ryan trade and would hope he would see the light at the end of the tunnel and that living in LI is not only "not bad" but pretty damn good |

Thanks Nite that was some big brawls between him and Milbury - kasperrko
When Bert did finally hit someone.. the whole arena shook. He was very frustrating to watch b/c u could see how good he could be out there... not as frustrating as Kvasha who was doing triple Axles at center ice during his shifts.. but frustrating none the less. |

I know he had all the tools to be the power forward he actually became. Ok maybe he had some anger issues but playing for Milbury I would have went AWOL as well |

since its hard to ever get a yes or no -- ill make it simple.
1) yes or no- was ryan smyth happy to come to come to the island?
2) good or bad - from a PR standpoint, would you say his overall attitude was good or bad for the islanders? - LetsGoIsles
1. Only Ryan Smyth can answer that question.
2. Only the people in the room working with him daily can speak to his attitude.

Sorry X this time you are wrong those two hated each and that is why Milbury shipped him out of here - kasperrko
Thats just not true... MM loved Bert... he hated the way Bert played like KO while he was here... But he always viewed Bert as a special player. Bert on the other hand hated MM.. mostly for his comparisons to Clark Gillies.

http://articles.nydailynews.com/1996-12-03/sports/18010535_1_winger-todd-bertuzzi-playing They were at war for 3 years and then he trade him and McCabe for Linden who was here for what seemed like an hour. - niteislander
where in that artical does it say he didnt like him?? Hell where does it even imply that?? Unhappy with his game.. yes.

again, keeping it simple...who is considered the laughingstock of the nhl? islanders or rangers? - LetsGoIsles
The team with Edmonton's 1994 Stanley Cup to show for it's history since 1940 that's gone to one more playoff than the Islanders since 1997 before last season and only got that because Tampa beat Carolina so they could back in to the final seed.
Sather lost out three playoffs in a row to Mike Milbury, who had half the payroll.
Garth Snow in those days promised to leave Sather tickets for the Islanders playoffs. |

You don't... No one hates HIM.. they hate the unrealized potential.. they hate the fact you may be able to consider him "injury prone".. they hate the contract.. etc... but no one shares your unnatural, obsessive hatred for the man.

Fluery was front-loaded enough for all. In those days Holik got his five year, forty five million retirement to get outworked by Kvasha.
Now the AHL needs a salary cap between Avery, Redden and whoever else. |

Always liked Bertuzzi even though he lost his shat with moore. He frustrated the hell out of me at times as an Islander but i liked him. I don't know? Maybe it was just his wife I liked? |
