The guy quietly and politely asked to be traded somewhere we he will be used, and Kenny looks like he's going to do his best to accommodate that request. Even if he gets absolutely nothing in return (which he won't, because honestly there is no trade market for Joey MacDonald).

You might think Joey deserved a shot at the backup spot, and you might well be right. Actually, I think you are right, despite MacDonald's back issues, considering I am not high on Gustavsson. But I think your characterization of this as a "back stabbing" is a little ... overly dramatic, and I daresay you may not be being entirely objective here.

I wasn't all that happy when Osgood was sent packing the first time. He had done nothing to deserve getting fired and had always been a loyal soldier. But hey, acquiring Hasek improved the team. That's how these things work.

No, I don't. That's not what I was saying. Was saying that's what I THINK will happen.

I want Semin. Because he's a good player who wouldn't generate even 1/10 the hate he does now if he were Canadian. And because the Red Wings will need to stock up on good forwards if they want to trade for help on defense.

Talented and Good are two totally different things, when it comes to Semin. If you can't bring your A game on a nightly basis, you will not be a Wing for long. Smein could not carry Nic's gear bag. He does not belong anywhere near this fabled team.
And I am not even a Wings fan..
