i'd rather listen to kc and the sunshine band than primus. for some reason i love disco lately.
- hammarby31

There is quality in disco as well.
Primus is an acquired taste, I admit. But where else do you get a song titled Wynonnas big brown beaver, and you aren't surprised at all?

Yeah, it's sad. His hearing started going - or so I'd heard - shortly after the 2007 Genesis tour.
- Flyskippy

yeah, I read bill bruford's autobio who felt pity for Phil and and told a few stories about the pop band/ star life and how he tried to avoid it like the plague.

No excuse. He's got to be horrified that people have seen this.

I saw him on a show with Edge, and Jack White, and he was playing some riffs from Whole Lotta Love, and Kashmir, and Edge, and White picked up their guitars to join in and were like screw it we aren't worthy.

Would be odd if it didn't.
These guys all know you need to do popular stuff if you want to make the money to be an artist

And Joe Cocker's "With a Little Help From My Friends".

Cocker was actually considered for Zeppelin, or more correctly "The New Yardbirds", when the band disintegrated. Page had a list of three or four guys he was interested in getting to sing: Cocker, Terry Reid and Paul Rodgers are the ones I know for sure.

Then somebody suggested Robert Plant.

I did not know that. Cool. Page rules!

I saw a Live Aid show in 99 and he was playing with P Diddy of all people and it was awesome.

yeah, I read they even considered replacing plant after the 1st album. I'm not sure if rod Stewart was considered cause I think he was working with beck by then

You should watch Zeppelin from Live Aid in 1985. Greatness took the whole afternoon off...Page was out of tune, Plant couldn't hear himself and they both blamed Collins afterward....and he was the only one who sounded like he'd been in the original band
