I posted the same exact thing earlier. I had the same speculation. That it isn't running things by the family. It's getting teams to bid against each other to get the teams they really want to play for, to match the top offers they received from other teams.

If the Flyers could land a top tier 3rd line winger I'd be willing to trade Bordon, read and pick(s). Would that be enough?

Who down the line could become a much better goal scorer? Nah, trade him! We want proven stars who we sign to huge deals or by giving way young assets: see how well it has worked out for us in the last 15 years!
