Honestly? Money. And the offer to play next to a young Giroux. I'm not saying that these factors weigh heavier than family/friends/home; but I would say that we can/will out bid the other teams in terms of money, and playing next to Giroux has to be enticing. But then again, Pitt has Crosby as well.

Again, watching his interview, there is no way I got the impression that was the issue. Each person can draw their own conclusion. You may be right 9 times out of 10, just my opinion that it doesn't apply here.

In terms of playing with Giroux, I think he would rather play with Crosby who is his friend and a slightly better player when healthy.

Pretty slow here too, for better or for worse. At least there's quarterly stuff to work on now, hopefully it makes the day go by a bit quicker.

I hope we don't win the Parise and Suter bidding war. Giroux deserves that kind of money after his current deal is up.

I'm ok with trading some forward depth for a top line talent at a reasonable cap hit. Ryan yes, Nash no. If Voracek wants 4mil per, he can go in the package for Bobby. Voracek, Read, MAB, 1st. May be an overpayment, but it's not like we are not known for that.

Carle can walk for any contract over 5mil per. Give Gus a shot at being the full-time #6, maybe sign a depth 5-6 d-man to battle it out with Gus and Lilja.

Weber is the big prize next off-season, he has to be licking his chops at the way this UFA season is going so far.

I think Bryz will have a better year that last season. He may never be the all-star goalie he was in Phx under Lava's system, but he can still be a solid tender, which is all the talent in front of him will need.

Nashville would be getting robbed in that deal. I don't see why Timonen would waive a NTC to go there, when it is his last contract year and he wants his best shot at a cup. Not sure about Hartnell, but he seems to like it here. Simply put, we'd still have to attach a few prospects on that deal in order to get Nashville's attention, and when all is said and done, our team will look worse than it does right now.

Sorry, but the trade makes little hockey sense.
