Hey guys, just took a long, well deserved nap and woke with this thought/ epiphany. lol. Tomorrow could be what shapes this franchise for a decade. It could be our turning point to regular Cup contention. Tomorrow has the possibility to be a huge day for this franhise. Lets what Darcy has up his sleeve!!!

About Luke Adam...every indication was that he COULD handle more he was doing great with Vanek and Pommer until he slumped or whatever. He saw both rookie success and sophomore slump in his first year...If he can return to his early form it drastically reduces the need for some scoring (we would still need some, just maybe a 20 goal scorer rather than a 30 goal scorer)
- Vakitis

I don't disagree with any of that
But it's usually it's better to start a guy off lower and have him work his way up
That way if he does start to struggle, it's against lesser competition...
Therefore, easier for him to break out of it more quickly
The quicker u break out of the slump...
1) the less it damages your overall confidence
2) it actually builds confidence bc u then know u can recover from a period where u struggle

Starting a rookie at the top gives him nowhere to go but down
Bad idea IMO

I'd say both statements are arguable
I'm of the opinion he is a GOOD coach, not great
As for whether or not he has worn out his welcome...
After Roy is traded and possibly Sekera...
How many guys are left that have been here a significant amount of time?
Pretty much just Miller, Vanek & Pominville... And you could throw Stafford in there too I guess
But my point is,
With so much turnover lately,
I rally don't see Ruff's being here for so long as an issue

- jdfitz77

Yeah i really don't see him as a "great" coach. maybe the players just aren't playing for him anymore. And this is totally an opinion but i fell like his "fluffy" Ruffy system (score 1 goal play d the rest of the game) is just ruining our SOon to be maybe superstars. I don't know.

The Avalanche have show much interest in Parise but look to be shifting their attention to P.A. Parenteau come tomorrow afternoon

Could be another Brad Richards type move, maybe he does have it all mapped out where he wants to go.

Im with you there. I dont think he goes to the Pens

I think the Pens (and this to me is the smarter of the ideas), sign Suter AND Parenteau. PA could be good with Crosby, the guy was money with Tavares

I also don't think the Pens are a fit for Zach, I think it'll be between us and the Wild honestly. Maybe the Wings too but I see them working on Suter first.

That may be true
But we don't have a good enough defense to play a more wide-open style
And plenty of talented players thrived under a similar system in Jersey when they were winning cups...
So it can work
You just have to find the players that will "buy in"

Listen, folks!

The rumor business is a no-win situation. Today, I call Schultz going to Edmonton hours before the decision is official, and I'm told that everyone and their mother knew Justin was going to the Oilers. If I make a mistake on a rumor, I'm chastised to no end.

If you don't want to listen to my rumors, then don't. I don't need 12 year-old queers critiquing my professional skills.

If you want to trust Homer and his source, by all means do it. It's no skin off my back.

I don't know where he is going but I fail to see the bad fit part of it. He is exactly the style of play that Crosby would mesh with.

Listen to how Dan Bylsma last week described his ideal winger for Crosby: "You look for the speed, the aggressiveness, the attack on the puck, someone who likes to work down low, the confidence to play with a star. ... You're not necessarily looking for an All-Star guy, though that would be a good thing."

If Bylsma wasn't talking about Parise - we're assuming this isn't a done deal - then it's his precise profile.

samezees. If its down to us and the Wild and he wants to win he will come here. He can always play for Minnesota for like the last couple years of his career.

.....agreed riding shotgun with Sid would be a fantastic place for his playmaking skills to land.

IMO, we have to stop being winners in July and start being winners Jan-June. That being said I would totally spooge my britches if we got Parise. But at the same time I could literally see it as us piling another high priced player on top of a heap of high priced guys who are talented, but are the wrong combination of talent with stale coaching who end up being only marginaly better in the standings.
