Man I'd be happy to overpay one of the greatest goalies ever for 1 or 2 years instead of taking a 10 year contract from Luongo. Reimer and Scrivens learning from one of the best ever? Yep sign me up.
- BlowMonkey

the sign up sheet is long.....i checked it, everyone is in....except for brodeur

He wont go to anybody but a cup contender, Chicago is my guess or even Vancouver if they can move Luongo.
- ky678468

isn't he already on a cup contender?

he'll go where he gets paid.

Marty is believed to want more, another blogger mentioned 6mill.
- wolfos412

That is almost twice what the Bowman cap computer will ever allow for a goalie to be paid.

Marty will never wear the Indianhead.

seriously....how many 3rd/4th line centres can one team collect
connolly, steckle, colborne, lombardi, bozak, zigomanis, dupuis, kadri.......

jokinen would actually be an improvement.

Have to disagree, mostly on the basis that we have no idea how capable Colborne is yet. Kadri will likely play on the wing if he wants to stay in the NHL.

Colborne is not going to our 2nd line center as long as Grabovski is around.

This article is in poor taste. Marty deserves the right to do whatever he wants at this stage in his career and after all he has done in this league. It really feels like you wrote this under the guise of a jab at Brodeur. And as if he'd even come to Toronto, the guy wants to win!
- all_about_the_D

We're talking pro sports here where athletes get paid in the millions. I believe the cliche "put up or shutup" applies here. I don't care what Brodeur has done in his past, what matters is what he can do for the team tomorrow and like others, I also believe he's way past his prime. If he wants to come here on a cheap contract to mentor Reimer/Scrivens, that's fine but what he's not worth is 6M/year. That's just ridiculous.

I would take Marty for a year rather than Luongo for 10.

Well if you want to evaluate this year's performance, it's only fair to consider the fact he played with a bum wrist for more than half the season. And further, the injury coincides with his drop off in production.

every player in the nhl plays injured, if he can't handle it he's in the wrong sport.

Jonathan Quick just signed in LA... why is nobody talking about Bernier, should be cheaper than Luongo and has potential. I think it's worth the risk to get Bernier

For a 1 or 2 year deal I think he could be a good fit.. but somewhere around $3.5-4M...

If they believe Reimer is the real deal then having a mentor like Marty can only be a good thing

No no you guys needs Bishop! I'm willing to trade him for Lupul

....wow, let me guess, you've never played hockey have you? Ever try to shoot the puck let alone pass it with a wrist injury? And I'm sorry but if you do actually watch and follow hockey then you should already know when a player is hurt, their production is affected whether or not they play through the injury. I can think of countless of examples where good players vanish because of injuries.

I have been saying that all long, and I keep getting people argue that he is no Luongo, and does not bring a garuntee that Luongo does
