Find one person who said we need to spend to the cap ceiling, please. What we've said is to honor the spirit of the cap floor. Not a max payroll. Just a legit minimum one.

We've been telling you that the team will get fan support when it gives people a reason to go. You've been providing examples today of how that is the case for virtually every other sports team in existence. Given that, it shouldn't really be a surprise that Wang got his "few weeks of interest" in 2002...the only year worth watching the team in the last decade.

As far as the other guys and their publicly-financed buildings, I don't know, maybe Wang should take a page out of their book and be as politically savvy as these other guys seem to be. Maybe if Dolan owned the Islanders, we'd have a new publicly-financed building too, since you've gone on and on about all the money he's able to get multiple times from the City for his building.

I'm not sure how else we can break it down. Maybe Charles should have hired Al's brother and the Isles would have got a new building years ago. Sometimes you have to play ball especially in NY.

Backroom-dealing, back-scratching and palm-greasing. That's politics pretty much everywhere, unfortunately. I'm sure these other guys didn't get their publicly-financed buildings by just going to politicians and saying, "please."

So who wants to sign Brodeur?

Jokes aside, I can't believe he's looking elsewhere.

I can't picture him wearing any other jersey, or a helmet without that same design on it. It would be too weird.

Maybe we'll get lucky and Garth will have a great offseason and the Wolfpack can retire with a job well done and we each get a nice gold watch.

To hell with all the debating over media and coverage and past owners...its Free agency time this weekend. So will we A: be blown away by an aquisition or two and have realistic hope or B: become frustrated by July 3rd as we will be down to slim pickings (familiar feelings). We got to be due for some action I feel. I can't see how Garth won't change it up a bit this year. As long as I see some qualiity players by position brought in, not over the hill but not neccessarily household names I could live with. Fingers crossed.

It's hard to see, but there's a chance the Devils go bankrupt. Guys don't want to play for a team that has an uncertain future (paging you, NYI). I'm sure he'd like whatever paycheck he accepts to be guaranteed to him.

Come on A. I just hope on July 4 I'm not tempted to eat a Roman Candle if Free Agency goes like past ones.

I'm optimistic. Not about free agency, but about the offseason. We'll probably strike out in free agency again, but I think Snow will be willing to swing another trade or two.

I think if we can get another good defenseman (similiar to Viznovski), a center (Jokinen) and a wing for JT (Ryan... ), we should be good to go...I think.

Maybe one of the kids will teach DP how to get up from a save or to stop overplaying the puck?

They are $10 million under the cap so they possibly could aquire 3 players by trades or free agency at an average of $3.3...

My hope is for a physical d-man, a sniper, and a heart and soul third liner with size that'll hit, fight, chip in an occasional goal, and leave it all on the ice (basically another Martin).

That'd be a perfect offseason, and I don't expect all of that to get done. Two of them? I'm happy. One? Eh, it depends on what else happens I guess. If none of that is brought in, and we just get some more spare parts, the sunny avatar probably goes away by the start of the season.

I'd put a legit power forward with hands on the list too, but jeez, we're one of many, many teams looking for an effective one of those. It'd be great, but I don't hold out any hope for it.'

Edit -- a center would also be gravy. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think the other needs are more important.

Your own goalie gear is not necessary. Just bring a first aid kit.
