Well there goes that...not that he was really on the radar. I'm sure Shero would prefer to make a run at someone without having to give much up, aside from $.
Bobby Ryan would be a ridiculous pickup for his contract, but he's going to command quite a bit unless Anaheim decides they don't want to deal with his attitude anymore and just dumps him for the first decent offer. Hopefully, if Philly really goes hard for him, Anaheim makes Holmgren break up his young guns for him. Holmgren is dumb enough to bite if thats the case

Anaheim wants Brayden Schenn from the Flyers.

Stewart was resigned at 3M for 1 year within the past two weeks.

Another very interesting St. Louis Blues guy, take this with a grain of salt, is Evgeny Grachev. He's a huge player at 22, with not really any numbers but alot of potential. He played for the Lokomotiv before coming over to the NHL and had his first NHL action this year. Could play wing as well as ceneter and would most likely not command a big haul. He's a reach, but he looks like he has alot of talent to offer for the future

Anaheim's GM isnt too bright. Not that I think we can get Ryan, but I'm not confident he will get real value for him.

If you are talking about Ek I don't pay attention to his rumors. I appreciate him running this site but his rumors don't interest me.

I'll give you that, but I think its a stretch when you consider that Dallas thought the same of Neal and Niskanen but theyve stepped up their game and both of them(onceNiskanen gets a new deal)could be with the Pens for some time. I like both Stewart and Grachev and I would make up a package for them both if I could to try and interest STL. I just have a feeling they are going to be very good for STL but just havent put up any monster numbers. Neal hadnt scored 40, but with Geno and Kunitz he did. Stewart and Grachev could tear it up with Sid. Just my $0.02

I dont think the team needed to get better on paper. They just needed to play better.

They didn't get better by any means. Your right they need to Better but will they. I'm just saying if he doesn't go get parise, suter, or Ryan will you guys still be happy. Staal is only gonna get better and our best shot at a cup included him this year.

No need to worry yet. Let's wait and see how this plan comes together this weekend. We'll have plenty of time to discuss everything come Monday and we'll have a far better idea of what this yeam is going to look like. I will just say, this won't be the team we start the season with.

I would wait to see what the D pairings will look like before saying we got better or not. The offense by no means was not the issue. Sutter will be fine I believe, and alot of people are high on Dumoulin. I really like the Vokoun pickup, but the D pairings have to be the focal point now. Goalie is better, forward may be a bit under but most likely fine. D needs to be re-tooled.

I said in my 1st post I'm waiting until July 2nd to be uPset I just am not 100% confident Shero lands any of the guys we have been talking about. And I'm not sure how folks on here don't thin we are worse without Staal. The value he brought to this team hasn't been replaced. Suter is a good 3rd line center but Staal is much better. Losing z may hurt early On if a young guy is inserted. We are smaller and less physical already. So h has to go get some Players. Hopefully some good ones with size

I think the flyers would have to add to it. Murray can't "lose" the trade so he will have to be overpaid for Ryan to move.

Idiotic for the Ducks to treat Ryan like sh*t. It should have never gotten to this point. Murray is a fool.

Furthermore trading Visnovsky was idiotic as well.

Ducks should can Murray not move Ryan.

Sutter is a better defensive center than Staal, and really that's what we need from that position. If RS lands Parise he easily trumps Staal's offensive production. Jordan would have walked next year for nothing anyway, RS was in a tough spot and did a great job maximizing his return.
I will give you smaller though, that's a concern of mine as well.

Sutter is very good defensively and provides a similar service to Staal with a much lower cap hit but he isn't better at anything Staal does.

They dont need to get better though. They were a top team in the regular season with no backup goalie and Crosby playing a small part of the season. They just need to be better in a 7 game window in April

I think we do hahaha
The size of the forwards has been brought up to Shero and Bylsma and they both acknowledged its a bit of a concern so I would imagine they are looking into how they can upgrade. I wouldnt be shocked if they tried to trade TK or Dupuis in any deal they make in order to bolster the top 2 lines
