Bunch of old farts around here.

Indeed. haha

Soo, apparently Bobby Ryan was seen in King of Prussia this week. Heard it on the radio this morning. Obviously it could be just because he is from near there but it got me thinking how bad it would suck if the Flyers were to get him.

Lets hope not. He is one of the only guys on this roster who can provide a REAL netfront presence. He scored quite a few goals from there and had quite a few disallowed as well. Also, he was a part of the best scoring line in the NHL. Does that mean he garners more interest? I don't know, but I hope he isn't involved in a deal unless its for Bobby Ryan---which is really doubtful

I'm not putting any stock in the Yandle rumors, but I will play along. Phoenix doesn't need D, it needs forwards. You ain't trading Neal, Sid or Malkin. TK wouldn't interest them and neither would any of the fourth liners. Who else is left? Dupes isn't going for Yandle.

They ain't going to take some garbage offer like TK, Tangradi and Bennett.

Interesting to see if the Pens try going against their usual patient approach and let Kuenhackl and Bennett really make a run at the team in camp. Fun stuff---it'll be September before we know it
- HopintheCordoba

I sure hope not. I love BBQs and golf far too much.

Sunday should be an interesting day.

They'd probably give up a dumb return for him

Did I mention Yandle? I must've missed something. Also, the Penguins are not currently in on Yandle, from what I am hearing.

Ha, you and me both. I might have some pit beef tonight and watch some baseball. Late Saturday night and Sunday will definitely be, of course the rest of next week should be interesting too

Yeah, if they make a play, let's hope they do. Maybe I'll dress up like Holmgren and give away Couturier, Voracek and both Schenns...and of course all of their available 1st round picks. Mwuahahahahaha!

They did good with the returns they got last year. I hope you're right though. He would be deadly with Giroux.

Trade Breaker ‏@NHLTradesFirst
Parise's first choice is to remain with #Devils. #Rangers #Kings #Flyers #Wings #Wild will make big offers as well.

Not a mention about the Penguins....it's time to wake up guys....Parise probably will re-sign with the Devils...sucks...

Plan B....let's trade for Weber! He's the real deal!

I'd be shocked after they have already traded JVR. Everybody knows, that's the piece they were willing to part with, but no doubt the Ducks wanted either Schenn or Cotourier in any part of the deal. I think Holmgren finally realized there's no way that trade was going to happen so they moved on getting the other Schenn. Besides, Philly's problem isn't scoring goals, it's the same as the Pens, keeping the puck out of their own net. Remains to be seen if Schenn can resurrect his career however.....

I believe the Ducks do expect Brayden Schenn to be a part of any Ryan deal.

@NHLTradefirst is our new iron clad source?

I chuckle at those of you that make fun of Eklund and then turn around and believe some other anonymous dude who blogs about his thoughts.

Parise is feeling more and more like he's going to re-sign, call it a hunch but I just think Lou will find a way to make him happy.

Doan would be a good consolation prize.

Not sure you see Hartnell score 37 again or rookies Read with 24 Couts 13 and Schenn with 12. Talbot scored 18 and Jagr won't be back with his 20 goals. That is 6 of the top 10 that in my opinion won't repeat those numbers. However, you never know if the rookies will hit the "sophomore slump" or if they will improve on those numbers I guess.

This whole week is nothing but non-sense rumors and agenda filled leaks. I'm not even bothering checking out twitter anymore until Sunday.

My UFA wishlist have to be (1) Parise, (2) Sutter, (3) Ray Whitney, (4) Shane Doan (5) Bryan Allen.

If no Parise/Sutter, I think Whitney & Doan would be a fine substitute.

On Doan...

By all accounts he's hitting the market and he carries a 4.55 cap hit currently. What do you guys realistically think he's offered from someone.

I think he could be persuaded to come to Pitts for a modest raise because I think getting a cup is at the top of his priority list. He's just not the type of guy I see going for the green.

I feel the same way, it just doesn't seem plausible that he would wear a different sweater.

But you have to admit he would look really good playing next to Crosby and getting to the front of the net on the PP.

Haha. Suter.

Ok, I swear i'll learn how to spell his name if comes to Pittsburgh. Still, I'd wager he's Detroit bound. Read somewhere he wants to play in the Western Conference (not sure why; heck of a lot of travel) & Detroit needs a replacement for Lidstrom.

Haven't seen anybody talk about this, but what about Jiri Hudler?? It sounds like he is going to free agency.

I personally think his play suffered because of his khl departure. He wasn't as good the second time with the red wings.

Lets put it this way, if the Red Wings, a team with boat loads of cap space, arent willing to bring him back, then why would a team that needs to be a lot more prudent with their space like us be able to sign him (or want to). I just dont see us picking up any mid-tier free agents. Those are the guys who get paid significantly more than their actual contribution level.

At least with some of the upper tier players you can justify it. Them and the bargain players on July 3rd, on.
