I think Pittsburgh and Carolina end up with a deal soon or Staal is in Pittsburgh until the deadline. Then Shero weighs his chances of being champions. If he does wait until then he will find a team in the West willing to pay for a player who could push them to the finals.

As A Pens fan I would be fine with letting Staal play into his final year with the guys he loves to play with. Then offer him a shorter contract. While giving him a spot on the #1 PP

They are pretty strong down the middle though. have 2 really good center prospects on the horizon. But i'd look to part with #2 to Buffalo for both their 1st rounders and maybe another throw in.

Why is everyone so worried about the russian factor with yakupov. hes not zherdev filatov. hes brtter. plus hes.got igor larionov as his agent. whose spent what 15 years in the nhl. and its not like yakupov is comming straight from russian like the other too and so many other picks. malkin,ovenchkin. zherdev. filatov. emelin. etc. hes played the last several years on american soil. if he had no intention on playing in the usa. then why come overseas to play for sarnia. he would have just stayed in russia.
