Here's how I'd like to see it play out (I won't bore with the trade details)

1. Murray to CBJ
2. Galy to Leafs
3. Forsberg to MTL
4. Yakupov to NYI
5. Reinhart to EDM

- mcgrattan

I just think the Jackets need as much depth in all areas... if they could get a solid player + a 5-8 pick for the #2 (ie: Yakupov being available), they do it.

They still have a shot at Forsberg or the Finn, or one of those top rated D.

- JDJ

I agree that they need depth but finding someone to give up a solid roster player or even a prospect in this draft might be a hefty task. Howson always asks too much for any of his assets.

as a flyer fan, I'd hate that -- I want to keep Schenn.

I cannot imagine how Black Hawks fans feel about Lou playing for them. How could Black Hawk management even put the fans through this.

The Canuck equivilant would be the jerk who concussed D Sedin coming back. Was it Keith.... can't remember ... they are all jerks.

- Beatle_john

This only makes sense if the Canucks then swing a trade for Byfuglien to use as payback.

I'll throw this one out there: Kessel. Leafs 2nd to Philly for JVR, B.Schenn, Philly's 1st.
Toronto trades Philly's 1st, Colborne + Bozak to COL for Stastny.

If it is truly the case that Parise cares more about legacy and leadership in his next destination than going to the Wild would provide him with the opportunity at being a Minnesota Hockey God! The last same or similar type player was Mike Modano. If you truly inventory of the MN Wild GM Chuck Fletcher has built a Franchise ready for a long run at success. Maybe only the Florida Panthers has better young prospects but the Wild has better NHL talent on the roster. A package deal of Parise and Suter for the WILD would be a major coup. The key element though is Parise. Fletcher has alot of ammo with 5-7 young forwards turning pro this season in addition to major cap space in the next 3 seasons.

*Hearing Columbus was in on Luongo, but found he was going to Toronto so traded for Bobrovsky.

*There are reports Tim Thomas has waived his No-trade. That happened ages ago as he did so that Boston could get cap relief. There is nothing new on Thomas today at all.

* Despite reports to the contrary, I am now confident the Canadiens do NOT intend to take Teravainen at #3.

If I was a GM with a top 3, and especially if I knew what players I did want / did not want, I think I would have pre-arranged framework for a deal in place if certain players dropped to me.

The Blue Jackets need help everywhere... badly. Likely more than any other team int he league... getting 2 strong players out of the deal is much better for them.

In fact, if I was Howson, I'd be dealing the #2 regardless, for something in 5-8 to get a strong D, while asking for a top 6 forward..

isn't it pretty clear by now that eklund is just trolling about parise to get hits. hilarious how people dismiss other rumours of his but agree with the parise one because they want parise and are hoping its true
- BDizzlez

When is ek not trolling for hits? Do you seriously believe anything he says has merit or is based on fact?

They are pretty strong down the middle though. have 2 really good center prospects on the horizon. But i'd look to part with #2 to Buffalo for both their 1st rounders and maybe another throw in.

Any word on what the Luongo deal will look like? Who's the main piece coming back in that trade?

Why is everyone so worried about the russian factor with yakupov. hes not zherdev filatov. hes brtter. plus hes.got igor larionov as his agent. whose spent what 15 years in the nhl. and its not like yakupov is comming straight from russian like the other too and so many other picks. malkin, ovenchkin. zherdev. filatov. emelin. etc. hes played the last several years on american soil. if he had no intention on playing in the usa. then why come overseas to play for sarnia. he would have just stayed in russia.
