Isn't what Parise wants fairly clear?
As in a big, giant contract. - kingcong39
NJ has been a winning team for almost 3 decades. The Devils fans have only seen a champion team.
The fans basically dont know how to lose. All they know is signing FAs and keep their draftees. Times are changing for the Devils. Got to lose at some point (3-4 years not making the playoffs doesnt count). Try rooting for a team that loses for 20 years.
Cant always get what you want fans of NJ.Meaning cant always have a championsp caliber team forever. |

so, i'm a sabres fan. i'm curious what other team fans think ryan miller is really worth on the trade market, taking into account the bob and lindback trades?
i am lukewarm on miller, what do you think buffalo could actually get in return for him? |

isn't it pretty clear by now that eklund is just trolling about parise to get hits. hilarious how people dismiss other rumours of his but agree with the parise one because they want parise and are hoping its true - BDizzlez
Dude of course we all want him....be puts fans in the seats.

Brian Burke is considering trades for a few centers. He's inquired about Statsny, Getzlaf, and Krejci.

@MapleLeafs and Luongo is close. I'm not convinced it gets done this weekend, but the sides are getting closer to a deal. |

Parise to me is still the man in NJ as the leader, regardless of Kovy and his contract. Parise is still a better overall two way player minus the hard shot, and Parise's leadership will forever be leaps and bounds greater than kovy's. |

If im the oilers I would send 31st pick, Dubnyk and maybe next years 2nd rounder. Probably a low ball tho. Millers getting older now |

the only reason i would argue that is because of the contracts. luongo is > goalie than miller but his contract is scary to any GM. i bet they could get very similar return in the trade market, perhaps a little more for miller because his contract is a lot better.
true? untrue? |

Thats what happens when a team has 2 owners.....Both dont always agree.
One owner thought Kovi was the man. |

yikes, that's lower than i would've expected (trying my best at being unbiased) but i think he could get more. i know for sure darcy would never pull the trigger on that offer. |

what about convincing parise to sign in buffalo? he is, after all, best friends with drew stafford.
staal could probably be convinced to stay too, i would just be nervous they give up too much and have him leave after this season. but if carolina thinks/believes that they can get staal guaranteed next july, why would they trade for him now? so that makes me think he is not going to go for a huge return because teams are nervous about him only being a rental.
thoughts? - mike719
esp wrt Buffalo. CAR needs to grab Staal now...otherwise they risk Staal having a great year with Vanek+Pomminville, and a huge Pegula-like offer of 5 years at 35-40 million (7-8/year). Would be VERY tough for Staal to turn that down...CAR has no guarantee that he will want to be in CAR *no matter what*....everybody has their price and Pegula could find Staal's... |

With Parise it is not as much about money as it is about being "the man" on the team he goes to...
We hear this somewhat often, but the latter begets the former. |

No doubt he could get more. But im saying this in the position of the oilers. The #1 this year and 1st rounder next year are just out of the question. maybe instead of the 2nd next year a prospect or 2. |

while playing with his bro probably sounds very appealing to him, he must know he would be the #2 center in carolina. in buffalo he'd be our first center, hands down. so i think buffalo has an edge in that regard.... (hopefully) |

Good, man. Yourself?
I haven't heard of telegrams since being at weddings in the early '90's. And, of course, I always remember that silly SNL sketch about a shark doing telegrams.

I think if the Oilers don't take Yakupov, the Jackets are likely to trade the #2 to someone else (Players + Low 1st round pick), who will pick Yakupov.
Likely target would be Toronto, Ana, Minny or Carolina so they can still get a quality pick.
The Odds of the Oilers and Blue Jackets letting Yakupov both slip past are so small.
But here is hoping it happens! |

And like I said earlier, I don't think playing with his brother is as important as it could be if they actually were playing on the same line. |
